In the heart of Mascot, Sydney, nestled amongst a bustling strip of shops and restaurants, lies a humble souvlaki joint called "grk Souvlaki." It's a no-frills establishment, but it's known for its generous portions and authentic Greek cuisine.

One sunny afternoon, two mates, Steve and Dave, decided to head to grk Souvlaki for a meat platter and a few beers. They were both big fans of souvlaki, and they had heard great things about this particular place.

As they walked into the restaurant, they were greeted by the warm aroma of grilled meat and the lively chatter of other diners. The walls were adorned with posters of Greek stuff, and the air was infused with the distinct scent of oregano and garlic.

Steve and Dave ordered a massive meat platter that included chicken souvlaki, lamb souvlaki, pork souvlaki, kebabs, and a side of Greek salad. They also ordered a couple of cold beers to wash it all down.

As they waited for their food to arrive, Steve and Dave took in the lively atmosphere of the restaurant. They watched as the they grilled the meat to perfection. They also chatted with the other diners, who were mostly locals who seemed to be regulars.

After a few minutes, the food was served. The platter was even more impressive in person. The meat was piled high on a platter, and it was all cooked to perfection. Steve and Dave wasted no time in digging in.

The meat was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The souvlaki was cooked over charcoal, which gave it a smoky flavor that was simply irresistible. The Greek salad was also delicious, with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and feta cheese.

As Steve and Dave ate, they enjoyed a few cold beers and chatted about their lives. They talked about their work, their families, and their plans for the future. They also laughed and joked, and they generally had a great time.

After they had finished eating, Steve and Dave were both stuffed. They had eaten every last bite of their meat platter, and they had even managed to squeeze in a few desserts.

They paid for their meal and thanked the staff for the delicious food. As they left the restaurant, they felt happy and content. They had had a great meal with a good mate, and they had both enjoyed the lively atmosphere of grk Souvlaki.

As they walked down the street, Steve and Dave agreed that grk Souvlaki was the best place to get souvlaki in Mascot. They vowed to return soon for another meat platter and a few beers.

If you’re looking for a good gyros in mascot, this is the place to go.

The pork is by far the best pork, best pork gyros I’ve had, and the price for $14 is so good without filling it is.

We didn’t try anything else, but will definitely be coming back and exploring the menu

Great souvlaki and massive portion worth $$$

We aren’t from the area but came across this place while waiting for pick up my family from the airport and love it! The chicken and pork were so perfectly cooked, delicious chips, great tzatziki and the people working there were super super nice! Well done! 👏🏽

Not many places to go for souvlaki in Sydney and the problem with most is they overcook the heck out of everything. Here, you get your skewers cooked nicely and yet still crusty as the outside is browned enough without overdoing it. A mixed grill get you the skewers and some nicely browned gyro freshly Sliced instead of just lazily browning it on the flat grill afterwards like others do. The biggest problem is that it is in Mascot, which is not a location I get to very often. They have Greek beers and coffee too for choice of beverage.

👀 My friend is Greek and wanted me to try authentic as he could find Greek and this is one of his fav spots. Located on busy King St, it is a small storefront, only a few tables inside. More of a takeaway spot it seems. They serve classic Greek food.

💥 Centred around one long wooden bar style counter, with a few whitewashed wood tables, only around 4 of them!

🍷 Takeaway fridge full of the usual suspects, juice, greek drinks including beer and wine, soft drinks and water.

🍴 Lamb Souvlaki plate $30 Served with hand cut fries, tzatziki, grk sauce & grk salad (w/o feta) - we shared this thank god, and yes it was super authentic and super delicious. The portion size is huge and the salad was really fresh.

Fantastic gr traditional chicken yeeros 10/10...fresh, well cooked with all the fillings and simply scrumptious 😋 I can't fault it at all, and I am a greek mama ..... great job to the girls... I will definitely comeback in a few days for lunch again ❤❤🥰🥰❤❤❤❤❤ big yum 😋

Had a chicken gyro, and it was amazing. Pita bread was freshly made, and the sauce and chips was nicely season. Recommended for anyone that want to try Greek food. The customer service was extremely satisfying and welcome with a smile. 5 stars

grk Souvlaki is the perfect place to drop in for a quick meal during lunch or dinner. The service is friendly and the food comes out pretty quick. I’m not a huge meat eater so it’s nice to see calamari on the menu board. I had calamari wrapped in a fluffy pita with chips and hummus. The calamari was tender and light and delicious. The Greek Loux drinks offered in the fridge make everything perfect.

Authentic Greek food and even drinks such as Loux, fix and Mythos beers. The food is huge and very delicious and service is very fast and good. Listen to nice Greek music as you await your food and the place is very clean too.. Worth the penny.. You might think you are in Greece once you enter this place..

Fresh and filling delicious pita wraps which are presented well, both the chicken and pork are great. The dips are quite nice too. Recommended for quick, takeaway street Greek food in the Mascot area.

Fresh and tasty food. We enjoyed the chicken souvlaki, lamb kebabs, and the hot chips.

Tip: Easy parking in the car park across the road.

I have popped in twice for lunch and the food was authentic, cooked to perfection (lamb souvlaki pita wrap — awwwwwwesome thick yet fluffy pita bread!). Chips are great too. The people are lovely, welcoming and attentive + the place is clean. Looking forward to going there for dinner this evening to try some other menu items and a glass of wine :)

The best lamb souvalaki you will have!!! You must try. All ingredients were so fresh and staff were very friendly!
