Pizza on Tuesday was great, even with the edge slightly burnt. Great quality and flavour. Highly recommend.

Great pub, had the spit roast on Wednesday night. Great night, meet some great people and dinner was very nice, the smell walking by as it cooked was enough to get our attention. 2 dining rooms and outdoor dining at the front. Beautiful building too.
Staff were very busy working...! 👍

Went tonight. My husband had the pig on the spit which was pork baked potato and veggies. I had the oysters they were beautiful fresh and large. I had the whiting chips and salad. Everything was very hot and tasty. I was told when I ordered mine might be longer. My oysters came quite quickly and were great.
The young man behind the bar was great and very helpful. My meal came the same time as my friends which was great. Well done everyone. A great place to eat.

Absolutely brilliant meal & service, sadly didn’t win the raffle but happy to contribute to Lions. Also staying at RV park, again brilliant. Keep up the great work.

We arrived in town saw the pig on the spit cooking and decided to stay. We were not disappointed. Apart from one grumpy barmaid, the rest of the staff and locals were all very friendly. Great night.

Atmos - a country pub with a rustic, homely stone and wood exterior and views of the ocean. Great to sit outdoors in winter with a fire at night or enjoy a tipple in the lunchtime sun. You can make some chit chat with friendly locals/ staff if you feel like being social. The patrons are an interesting mix of locals, grey nomads and itinerant travellers of all ages. The owners are usually around to say Gday or ask how your meals were. Dogs on leads are OK outside and can be a good conversation starter.

Menu - Standard pub fare with some slight variations from small town standards. The oysters are a must try in this oyster farming area, however the Wednesday night pig spit is the star of the show - This is a true country meal made with love. The whole pig is slow roasted outside the pub for about 8 hours before being carved up and served at about 6.30pm onwards. The pork is unbelievably tender and juicy. The crackle is crisp and perfect texture, able to be broken with a fork. The vegetable sides are traditional country favorites - crumbed, creamy potato bake and green beans, however there is an option of salad. The pork serving is ample - enough for even the most enthusiastic carnivore - I had to give half of mine to company. The meat gravy is a good consistency, not too thick more on the thin side. Presentation is quite nice with quality white China. The price is very reasonable - $14 for this sumptuous feast.

This is a country pub, drink options are standard beers and wines, no craft beers etc.

Service - Order at counter and food is brought out to table. The staff are friendly and only too happy to accommodate reasonable requests. Serving wait times can increase on very busy evenings, but for the most part service is very prompt. Courtesy bus available for patrons in the immediate area if you don't want to drive, you just need to ring the venue and ask if possible to get the bus.

Over all, the Wednesday spit is the highlight - a special dining experience for a single, couple or large group. Well worth a mid week drive to this down to earth seaside community packed with Aussie charm.

Brenton (publican) & staff friendly, meals the best with a view, beer is great at a fair price, they made up a special pizza and garlic prawns that was not on the menu for me.. excellent, publican even gave me a bag of whiting heads for crabbing free👍 highly recommend,

1 of the best pubs I have been in for a long time. Publican is 1 of the nicest blokes ever and made us feel very welcome. Pig on a spit every Wednesday night was a great meal and great value. I look forward to returning again

After a long day on the road and an afternoon exploring Cowell, the Franklin Harbour hotel was the perfect place to grab a beer and relax. I think it was the smell of the pig on the spit that lured us in initially but we had a great afternoon having cold beers on the balcony

Great pub, really popular with the locals. Service was friendly and meals were out quick. Big meals and all at a reasonable price.

I recommend trying their Chicken Parmigiana and getting there before sunset.
