BIG4 Lake Maraboon Holiday Village

We stayed here February 2024. The service was very friendly, the view from our Villa was brilliant and very quiet. The food in the cafe was tasty and good value.
The only little negatives for us (very little), is the wifi didn’t reach our Villa and the phone reception is very poor and apart from the lake, very little for the kids to do.
We had a great weekend and highly recommend!

A cheery welcome at the desk by Di set the tone for a wonderful 4 days at Lake Maraboon. We have visited many times over the years but especially enjoyed our stay in February. Loved being able to have meals at the Cafe.Great to see update work happening around the park.Well done to managers and staff.

We just left Lake Maraboon today. We had a fantastic week. Beautiful grounds, great amenities, clean and tidy, best shower pressure and a refreshing pool. Amazing views and heaps of birdlife. Best part was it was dog friendly. We even hired a boat for a few hours and came home with a nice feed of Red Claw

The staff were all lovely and great to chat too. We always enjoy our stay here, whether we are in a cabin or bring our caravan. This stay, we were in a cabin and it was clean and everything was great. Thanks to all the hard working staff for another enjoyable stay :-)

We are regulars at Lake Maraboon Holiday Village for the past 15 years. We love the simplicity of the standard cabins which have plenty of room for us as a couple and all our gear. We go for the red clawing and the park is a great base for this activity, close to the dam. The park has great facilities including cafe with the BEST red claw pizza. Hosts Melissa and Dean are fabulous making it a real home-away-from-home experience

Lovely time spent at the BIG4. Room smelt lovely when we arrived and the air-conditioner was turned on prior to our arrival ensuring the room was nice and cool. The beds were super comfortable. The kids enjoyed a swim in the pool after a big day at the dam and the public amenities were also nice and clean. Staff were very accommodating. We will be back :)

We had a great 2 night stay at this park even during temps of 40 degrees! The partially covered pool is a very welcome relief from the heat and the grounds are kept clean and well maintained. All staff were lovely and we were grateful to Rob for giving us a taste of some red claw when it's been such a long time since we'd had any. Delicious!
As the park wasn't full, the first night we chose site 88 for privacy which was right at the end of the park in the 'naughty corner'. lol
Second night we moved onto site 20 to be closer to the pool and that was a great spot. Not as private but wonderfully close to the pool and amenities.
This park will be even better when the new managers get the restaurant and bar up and running again in the New Year. Probably lucky it wasn't open because that saved us a stack of money. It would be very easy to sit at the outdoor tables overlooking the pool having a few cold ones! Thanks to the caretakers of the park, it was a very good experience.

Great place for a camping holiday, good for red claw and boating activities. Excellent bathroom facilities. Telstra reception is great but optus is barely there. 20 minutes each way to emerald for groceries. Absolutely lovely staff who we hope to see next year.

Just stayed in the caravan section of the park for a week, nice green, level sites. I would rate this as one of the best spots we've stayed.. Not allot of parks you can have a fire on your site with fantastic views across the dam with the opportunity to catch some of the biggest redclaw in Australia... The new managers were super friendly and could not have been more accommodating... I will be back when it cools off to cook the big redclaw on the open fire, cannot wait!!!

Beautiful camp-site! Grounds were clean and layout beautifully.
It's right next to the lake, quite outside town. I think it gives a lot of charm to the camp.

We have been staying at the caravan park for the last week and it has been great. The staff are really friendly. Thank goodness there is a pool as it's been pretty warm. The camp kitchen is clean with 3 bbq's to use. The cafe was open Friday to Sunday so we ate there, the chicken schnitty was really nice, cold beer and great selection of drinks. Heaps of redclaw to be caught. Looking forward to coming back.

I stay here occasionally on an un powered site near the toilet and shower facilities. It's a perfect spot, however the only thing that majorly let's it down is the huge garbage bin right at the side of the camp spot. It absolutely stinks. It would be great if you could find somewhere else to house the bin. Other than that, I can't fault the place.

Everything about this place is fantastic, from the minute we arrived (late around 8pm) and were welcome by Melissa, to the moment we leaved. The site is clean, the pool small but awwwwww refreshing. Bird polulation is amazing. Close to a fishing and swimming area. You can hire a boat ir kayak. Not visiting this site is a crime! And again the hosts are premium level, kind, loving peoples. Thank you for your hospitality, the 2 Canadians from Montreal, Mériem and Jeff.

Stayed midweek with 2 dogs, so quiet just how I like it, great check-in, picked a nice site larger than one I was given last time, spotless amenities. Great access to the lake. Had a great time, will stay again.

BIG 4 Lake Maraboon is about 25kms or 30 mins travelling time from Emerald. But it is worth every minute of travel. The park is quite large and the sites are well defined. Some are more spacious than others, but obviously we all don't have the same size requirements for our caravans or tents. There is plenty of parking for cars and watercraft. The birdlife is amazing. The park is very quiet in a beautiful rural setting all with spectacular views of Lake Maraboon. There are sufficient amenities blocks that are all cleaned daily, then maintained throughout the day as required. At the time of our stay the kitchen, cafe & bar was not operational. Di in reception is an absolute delight, always with a welcoming smile and lets you feel like you don't have a worry in the world! BIG 4 Lake Maraboon really is a piece of paradise.

Awesome location, within an hours drive from some of Australia's best gem fields (Rubyvale, Sapphire, Anakie). Nice and quiet during our stay (Oct 2023), lots of activity at the lake which is a short walk from the park. Great, refreshing pool, clean and tidy amenities and awesome camp kitchen.

We stayed in the Ensuite powered sites in our camper trailer. The sites were in a prime location, however the ensuites were a bit worse for wear. The staff were amazing and the food, bar and pool were fantastic!

Thank you for upgrading our cabin for me last minute so we could see the dam from our verandah. It ended up being the perfect weekend for my partner to PROPOSE to me while we were there on the verandah enjoying the peace and quiet! We will definitely be back ❤💍❤

Ants were a problem and the beds are ok for kids. Way too small for an adult, other wise excellent. They need a new laundry contractor. Most towels were stained. I'll definitely be back for my 7th time
