Gunyah Hotel

What a lovely surprise this hotel is. We have driven past this hotel so many times for years but never popped in before. as we have a friend from the UK visiting us, we thought we would try it for lunch and it was perfect!! Lovely location, great staff and great food!! Very recommended!!

My fiancé and I hosted our engagement party in the Lake View Function Room and could not recommend the Gunyah or Rachel more! Nothing was too much in both the lead up and on the night for Rachel and her team and everything interaction myself or my family and friends had was met with nothing but with kindness and ease! I would highly recommend this venue and team to anyone looking to host an event in this space. Beautiful food, venue and service!

Live music on Sunday arvo was great. Pretty good food at a reasonable price and great air con (it was a really hot day). Staff were really lovely and helpful.

Had lunch with some friends here today, lunch was perfect, meals were good, hot and fast.
I wanted mention a staff member Rachael, awesome staff member, she went above and beyond to help out us out with something that had nothing to do with the hotel but was time critical.
We will be back.

We had our gym Christmas Party in the function room over the weekend and we've received overwhelming reviews from our members about how great the night was ever since.

Throughout the night, everyone raved about how nice the room looked, how good the food tasted, and how friendly and accommodating the staff were.

I would like to give a big shout out to Rachel who could not have been more helpful throughout the planning process and on the night. I initially felt overwhelmed going into planning the event, and she took all of that stress away, having thought of/and helping me work through small details of how the night would run. I felt confident and stress free now knowing this event was in her hands. She went above and beyond to make sure our night would run smoothly, it was amazing to work with someone just as passionate as us about our event.

Our team and our members are very excited about hosting future events there.

Great views of the lake with a pub meal you can rely on. Quicker to go to the public bar for a drink. Food was pretty good with servings of some meals quite large.

I have been to the Gunyah quite a few times for dinner, have been to an engagement party and recently a degustation dinner event they had on. All times I have been the food and service have been spectacular. Great location near the lake and close to the Belmont shops etc.

Our first time eating here the place is packed. Blowen away by the food we started with bruschetta then onto the Crispy skin barramundi finished with Chocolate fudge brownie sundae!! If your ever up this way in Lake Macquarie do your self a favour you won't be disappointed. The service was fantastic!!

Went for dinner loved the chicken 🐔 schnitzel great feed will definitely be back.

If Cheers was a place in real life, Gunyah would be it. The staff make you feel like a local even if it's your first time there. The food is hot and delicious and the beers are nice and cold. The rooms are clean, affordable, and a short walk gives great views of the water. We will definitely be back!

Nice pub which was located next door to our accommodation. Very friendly staff and locals which added a nice family feel to the pub. Bonus that it's pooch friendly🥰 as its very hard to find places in evening which allow dogs so that was nice. Good portions of food and good meals. Would definitely recommend 😊

Stayed overnight and dinner at bistro. Polite and helpful staff, clean and comfortable accommodation. Bistro dinning area clean, tidy and well layed out . Good selection of meals on menu at reasonable prices. We were very impressed with the seafood platter for two. Whilst dining we observed various other meals all of which were of generous serving looking very tasty. Thank you for an enjoyable stay Gunyah Hotel.

Came here with a large group for a birthday dinner and the staff were great in getting the tables organised so I could decorate them for the occasion. Nothing was a bother. The food was delicious too. It was a Wed night and they had trivia on ( which would have been good if they informed me at the time of booking), but we enjoyed it anyway. Great, elevated view of the lake.

We met friends for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Booking our table online was easy and we all enjoyed our food. The eton mess for dessert was huge, plenty for two.

Food is amazing. Service is great. Very friendly staff. Quick service. Great location and views. Definitely recommend a visit.
