Byron Central Hospital

We are so thankful & grateful for the staff at Byron Hospital. Whenever we have had to take our babies here (usually in the middle of the night) the staff are always so upbeat, professional, patient and understanding. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful hospital and such wonderful doctors and nurses. X

Being from Melbourne and needing to go to the emergency ward, I found the service was really pleasing. They do the best they can to get everyone assessed and looked at. I could not fault them. Well done team.

Thank you so much to the team in ED who looked after me yesterday when I needed my leg stitched up. The triage nurse was compassionate, the doctor was super lovely and very thorough, and the radiologist gave me a good giggle on an otherwise stressful day. The facilities were clean and tidy and I was surprised at how quickly I was seen to and looked after! You’re all doing an amazing job- thank you!!

I had the most lovely nurses care for mum on the ward. Simone was so gentle and explained everything to mum and listened to my concerns. she even got warm blankets for her comfort from staff

Staff were very professional and kind and hospital was very clean and sterile. I was quickly assessed by the Emergency Triage Nurse and then Nurse Nicole and Dr Nicole both made me feel comfortable and conducted all the relevant tests I needed. I have spent a lot of time in a lot of hospitals over the years and my experience with Byron Central Hospital was definitely up there as one of the best. Thank you!

My 84 year old Mum was taken to Byron Emergency by the Ambulance. The ambulance team, doctors and nurses treated her with so much care and respect. Thank you for looking after her you made her feel so safe and helped her so much.

I feel overwhelmed by the care I’ve received from the nurses & medical team, specially when I felt so vulnerable after my car accident.

Thank you to the Drs, nurses and staff at the Emergency department for looking after me last night. I came in having trouble breathing and they really looked after me. They saw me right away and were thorough. Even when the breathing attack stopped they had me stay to do another blood test to ensure my heart was ok. I was there from 9:45pm until 4:30am and some were on a double shift. They were still kind and thorough and patient with the interesting patients there at the time. I hope that the Drs, nurses and staff can get this positive feedback. Thank you 😁🙏

Was having bad chest pains so I was taken to emergency. Ray and the doctor were great. Very professional, and thorough throughout, conducting all the necessary tests required to diagnose the issue thankfully not fatal.
Ray even got me a toasted sandwich while I waited, good guy.

Excellent service when my husband had water in his lungs. The emergency doctor communicated perfectly with the surgeon who took care of my husband some days before, and they devised together the next necessary steps. Always professional and friendly.

Quick and professional staff from beginning to end. Easy parking and access. Clean waiting room with sterilization stations. Very impressed with this hospital.

I fell and hit my head very badly on a hard wooden table and I was alone and bleeding profusely. I managed to call 000.The ambulance paramedics arrived in less than 5 minutes, applied pressure to try to try to stop the bleeding then rushed me to Byron Bay hospital. Staff there were very friendly, caring and efficient, they quickly did a CT scan, then a nurse held my hand while a doctor sewed me up. I was told that my skull was not fractured and there was no bleeding on the brain but that I had concussion and a very large bump.

I also did a PCR test at the fever clinic recently and the medics there were very friendly and informative. My husband has visited Emergency on 2 occasions and he also received excellent care by doctors and nurses on both occasions, so we are very impressed by the Byron Bay hospital and it’s staff. The only negative I can report is the signage for the long walk around to the other side of the hospital to do a PCR test, because it could maybe better advise disabled and sick people to drive around, instead of walking through a reportedly venomous snake frequented area. There were several signs warniNg about the snakes so it was a long, rather scary walk!

After falling down the cliff at Byron Bay I was treated at this hospital. The staff were friendly and we're keeping safe practices. They were very thorough and gave fantastic advice on pain management. Great banter amongst the staff. It felt welcoming, friendly and I would recommend this place if you're in the need for a hospital in the region.

Went in just before midnight on a Friday to have a reopened wound restitched after having the stitches taken out in Brisbane earlier in the day. Staff were competent and efficient.

I've been to a fair few hospitals over the gold coast and brisbane and hands down byrons A&E are amazing. Compassionate and willing to help. It's a shame the smaller hospitals get minimum funding as byron has so much potential. Staff are top notch and thorough.

Staff are amazing and attentive. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Really impressed with the helpfulness and caring nature of all the staff.
