Fountain Street General Practice

Dr Kim Goodman is a fantastic GP; smart and empathetic. And the admin staff are excellent, which can make the world of difference.

I have been seeing my GP Dr Kim Goodman since before this practice and she is the best GP I have had in years. The receptionists at this practice have always been so accommodating and understanding. I completely forgot to renew my prescription and they put through an urgent request for me and I got the e-script same day. Can't recommend this practice enough!

The nurses at Fountain Street medical centre are amazing! Special mention to Anne Marie who gave both our kids their COVID vaccinations. My son is terrified of needles and she was very understanding, patient and calm with him. She made a stressful process much easier and gave him a really positive experience to build his confidence.

The best general practice around!! I used to see Dr Rebecca Blake and after she relocated I now see Dr Sofie Roberts. Sofie has managed my pregnancy so, so well and I have felt incredibly well supported at every stage of the process. For as long as I live in Sydney, I won't be going anywhere else!! Highly recommend Fountain St GP!

TIP: It can be challenging to get an appointment, so I'd recommend booking early. You can do this online too!
NOTABLE: Last time I checked their pathology is open 7:30am-3pm.
Parking can be tricky (there's 1 hour free across the road if you use Woolworths, in their car park).
MY EXPERIENCE: Dr. Madeleine really cares about his patients is super competent & found a diagnosis for something I'd never had answers from other doctors on, previously. He always follows up.
STAFF: The staff are always polite, albeit reception staff appear to have varied levels of training. If you feel they have given you incorrect info, they'll likely chase it up for you. They're well intended. I think they may have some very long term regular staff and then maybe one that is new and changes. I think I've had that person a few times.
INTERIOR: The practice is super clean and easily fits prams, wheelchairs etc (they have a lift). I've been to a few hospitals of late & none of them appear as thorough as this practice: temperatures, masks, hand sanitizer, enforced distance etc.

I just did the Pfizer vaccine by Dr Mel. Everything was well organised but more importantly Dr. Mel assured me how safe the vaccine is and she thanked me for doing it. I could feel how deeply she and her team care about the patients and the community. Thank you

Went for the first time today and Dr Sophie is one of the most caring, professional and down to earth doctors I have met! Really thorough and authentic - the reviews are true. I’ve found my Sydney gp practice!

My sons and I have been patients of several of the doctors at this practice for 22 years. You will find it difficult to find such a modern facility with doctors that provide expert care with old family values. Receptionists are efficient and the nurse and pathology service very convenient.

Have always had great experiences with the doctors here. Knowledgable, empathetic, and thorough. Always keen to get the to heart of the problem. They are excellent with kids and babies and have a wonderful nurse who assists with vaccinations.

Very experienced with children, excellent family care. My son has seen a few of the GPs and they are all terrific - I trust them completely with his care. The nurses and reception staff are also brilliant.

Unbelievable empathetic, and professional service. All staff go above and beyond expectations. Here is my experience in detail:

I turned up post emergency surgery in a physical and emotional mess on the wrong day. Reception was sympathetic, got me the next available appointment, which happened to be in half an hour. She arranged for a bed for me during the wait. I mentioned the surgery and asked if the hospital had sent over my notes (they hadn't) reception chased this up, got me a blanket and made sure I was comfortable.

Nurses then saw me pre appointment, did pre-emotive tests for the doctor (BP, blood sugar ect.) they also were incrediblely sympathetic general and all around lovely people.

Doctor then saw me she was bright bubbly and reassuring. She had the surgical note from the doctor, when through everything throughly, there were five different issues. She arranged a follow up a week later to check progress and gave good advice medically and personally.

I have never had an experience close to this in the public or private health sector. Truely impressed.

Excellent! Dr Mark Madeleine is exceptional as a doctor and as a person. Wonderful. Just as well I don't need to be sick to go there. I can always stop by to say hello.

Excellent set of doctors and a good selectio of pediatricians too. Appointments are not rushed and doctors remember your details. Usually timely too and doctors are available early so you can see them before work. Douglas Hanly Moir pathology on site so you can get bloods done in same location. Parking available for a low fee too.

I’ve been going to Fountain Street Medical for a few years and I really appreciate the Drs and nurses there especially Dr Sharon Lim who I see and Dr Marc Madeline who my son sees who go above and beyond. Specifically Dr Lim has been so caring and attentive going above and beyond what you get from most GP’s, through a very difficult medical issue, I couldn’t recommend the practise and these two doctors more! Thank you

The set up they have to provide Covid vaccinations is so streamlined and well thought out. I was in and out in 15 minutes, running right on time AND I got to choose which colour lolly snake I wanted (as an added bonus).

The best practice in all the land!!!! Keep coming back to the team of doctors here because they are the best. Worth the travel.
