The Big Easel

It's like a few inheritance random sights: you arrive at the destination and look around and up and it's there! Lovely artwork with mosaic history around the perimeter that is also worth seeing, telling many stories of the local industry and growth.
Saturdays are tricky to get a park with local kids sport so maybe try the pm or Sunday

Lovely stop at Info Centre. Big Easel is worth a look while walking the Mosaic Mile path also interesting if you are into this sort of thing. Public toilets also available at this stop with a good sized baby change room. Small historical village is also there.

The lady at info centre was wonderful,giving me her time and possible visiting ideas,we had our dogs with us and she was extremely helpful.thank you so much

Nice place, big painting

Really nice park great market on Sunday morning the big easel is huge we loved Emerald.

It’s a fun BIG item on a lovely grassy area with big shade trees. We had fun posing with and enjoying the massive public artwork :)

Great place to stop and walk around, tourist information center close by, food not far and shops only fees minutes away great for kids to run around.

Beautiful park and the easel is a lot bigger in person. Photos don't do it justice.

Five stars for the only thing do in Emerald on a Sunday

It's certainly big. Nice park.

Saw this on the way out to Longreach. But actually stopped over on the way back and I am amazed at the well presented giant scrupture. Apparently by the information panel at it's base, this is one of many all over the world and I am happy to have seen one.

As this is located in a park just off the main highway, it is easily missed if coming from the coast but much more notible if coming from the west and this is located in a lovely park.

Well worth the visit and a stop over for travellers.

The largest easel painting in the world. Awesome to see, great photo opportunity!

Visited on the weekend for the Christmas markets. The big easel is part of a worldwide sunflower festival project and there are easels just like this one across multiple other countries, Canada being the only one I can think of off the top of my head. If my memory serves me, this is the largest one of them all. It's a great landmark in downtown Emerald, and the park precinct surrounding it is lovely. There's old buildings from the early settlement preserved near the information centre, and in the other direction there's the football fields where Emerald Eagles FC play. Definitely check it out if you're passing through.

I have no idea why people can gave a low rate on this. It is so cool!

Fantastic spot. Go here twice a week. Highly recommend it for a walk.

Vincent Van Gogh paintings are inspiring and this one promotes this area. Sunflowers shining down on everyone.
