Booked in for 3 nights initially, the park is so peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of suburbia, we asked could we stay longer.

Russell was very obliging but could only give us another 2 nights as fully booked.
So 5 nights of absolute peace and quiet beside the forest, most noise was the gentle breeze blowing in the pine trees.

Would I go again?

Definitely.
Thanks to all the Vets who've helped make this place so interesting with the camp kitchen plaques and memorabilia. Amazing doesn't do it justice.

We had our own van and had a great few days here. It's Veteran owned and my hubby is ex navy so had a good time talking to other vets,, you don't have to be a vet to stay here..there is a beautiful armed forces memorial looking over a small lake. Very well presented

Caravan space was exceptional. Power and water. Choice of concrete, gravel, and grass configuration. Substantial camp kitchen. No tv reception. Happy hour with a big roll-up each day (BYO). Beautiful forest setting. Close to Rainbow Beach, Tin Can Bay and Gympie. Old school vibe, quiet and relaxing.

Love the park. It's peaceful, love relaxing around the fire for happy hour. Has a large camp kitchen, powered and non powered sites. Owner is very helpful and has a wicked sense of humour.

I stayed at Standown Park for four nights with my little dog, just the two of us. We had a powered grass site and it was massive, a lovely touch being the hedges between each campsite, giving that extra feeling of privacy. The campsite was so well kept, so peaceful, the amenities second to none. The individual bathrooms were such a great touch, as well as the regular stalls you’d find at most other campsites. The communal firepit for and the massive undercover area was a huge drawcard for me, as a solo traveller too. Sitting relaxing at my campsite watching kangaroos hop by in the forestry area was such a nice touch too, it was all so serene. Russell the owner was such a great host too. The location of the campsite was so central, being close proximity to Gympie, Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach. We will definitely be back! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Beautiful place for doing nothing, with big flat open grassy unpowerd camp sites or flat powered sites for the caravan. Close to Tin Can Bay or Rainbow Beach
Highly recommended for your next road trip

Nicest Caravan Park we have stayed in. Showers are the best very roomy and hot. Fire every night. Great camp Kitchen. Beautiful grounds. Not far to Gympie or Tin Can Bay, Rainbow Beach only access is by car. Wouldn't hesitate in coming back.
Thank you Russel we had a great 3 nights.

Fabulously well kept grounds. We had a grassy site which was perfect for our tent, there are gravel sites for camper vans.

The amenities are spotless - lovely bathrooms and hot showers.

Overall a lovely, peaceful camp. We even saw some roos in the morning!

Thanks Russell to allowing us to join everyone for 3 nights, we wish we could have stayed longer, will miss the 4pm drinks by the fire and feeling like we were part of the locals. We have stayed at many caravan sites but this is no .1. So much we will be back in the future.
Already told everyone to come here and stay.

We loved staying here, it was quiet and peaceful. Our neighbour Bluey was the nicest guy as were all the other residents we met. There is a happy hour at 4pm, lots of yarning going on. The park wasn't busy and I can see there could be a queue for the amenities at busy times. Lots of well maintained open space, a great camp kitchen, the new owners were very helpful and easy to deal with. I loved relaxing with my book and listening to the birds sing.

This place is great! The owner is such a Kind and friendly man, and the campsite is nice and spacious. Theres good facilities and wild kangaroos roam the areas. The camp kitchen has SO much character and soul, as it is full of army memorabilia reflecting it's purpose as a haven for veterans. The cherry on top, though, is the bonfire, which is lit everyday around 4-5 PM, giving campers the perfect opportunity to have a chat and a beer with the war veterans and other civilians ;) .
5/5 would recommend this place! We had an awesome time here!

Needed a quiet place to stay. This fitted the bill so to speak. Joined in for a social time before sunset which was great. A lot of helpful people.
Grounds are beautiful and neat. Caravan sites are very roomy. I have not visited the memorial to service personnel but will be.
There are kangaroos as well.
All amenities for caravanners and tenters.

This is campsite is so beautiful and so well kept. We caught the most magical sunset over the mountain and seen so many kangaroo's pottering around. The amenities are clean and the kitchen area is huge. Russel and his family are amazing hosts and super friendly.
