The Freshwater Kitchen

This peaceful little Cafe has in my opinion the biggest food in Iluka. Servings are generous, the food fresh, the coffee great and the service friendly. It's pet friendly too and caters for food intolerances.

Very friendly staff, quiet, a great atmosphere.
It was very refreshing to have Sourdough Toast with a drizzle of olive oil rather than being smothered with butter - truly eggs my way.

Had sensational coffees from here. Service was friendly, genuine, and quick. We could smell the quality of the coffee as we walked past and had to stop.
Would recommend highly if in Iluka, or worth the drive from Woody head campgrounds for a great coffee.

What a lovely surprise the Freshwater Kitchen turned out to be for my favourite Nth Coast town, in all my time Iluka has never been known for its culinary pitstop UNTIL now. Over the past year every time I visit, I go for breakfast, lunch and coffee pitstops and yeah, their burger nights too, every time I have been blown away, especially with the delicious corn fritters for breakfast…and bonus points my dog is welcome…😊 everyone seems to know each other and it has a great vibe, what hidden gem this place is. The coffee was excellent, the service is very friendly, and you can tell the food fresh and locally sourced. I totally recommend.

Exceptional breakfast. Best in town for sure… no wonder it’s so busy. Would recommend scrambled eggs or the bacon & egg roll. Coffee was very good. It has a great ambiance.

We had a party of 10 for brunch. They did a great job! Coffees were fantastic. Can be busy in the mornings. So if you are doing a large table it is best to book ahead if you can. Dogs are allowed! 🐕 Which was a bonus for us.

We've visited a few times as the food was delicious and enjoyed the experience. Coffee was great (including the decaf)! The only downside was it wasnt open more when we would have liked! Can see lots of future opportunity in this place! Good luck!

Their coffee could win awards, and it's served in biodegradable cups—so you can sip guilt-free, like Mother Earth intended.

The food's not only scrumptious but also budget-friendly—no need to auction off any internal organs! And their pastries? I suspect they're baked by pastry elves who work only at dawn.

Easily my favorite pit-stop in Iluka, and that's saying something!

On holidays 1st time we visited and went back everyday. Great coffee, cakes, lovely atmosphere, wonderful friendly staff even put a candle in my cake for my birthday
