The place is in the center, surrounded by beautifully blooming gardens meticulously planted along the walking path. Intrigued, I went down to explore what was there—a way to showcase these small yet beautiful hidden attractions. The view is stunning. Despite its modest size, the presence of a wishful well and a charming garden around it made the place even more enjoyable.

The cave garden is always healthy and lush on every occasion I've visited. My most recent visit, however, I couldn't help but notice that the grassed areas were a little worn from people walking all over it rather than sticking to the paths and apparently, signage was optional for some people about no dogs in the garden. Possums reside in the garden and are a regular visitor at night.

The cave gardens is a nice little park behind the Mt. Gambier city town hall.

The cave is definitely fascinating. Such a shame that vandals gave thrown in supermarket trolleys, bottles, used glasses and good knows what else.

If you're visiting Mt. Gambier, then it's a place worth visiting.

This one is located right in the city centre. Surrounded by busy roads, restaurants, and cafes And a park to relax. Similar to other sinkholes in the area, locals say during rains there is a waterfall visible. All in all, a good sink-hole to visit, to click a few pictures, would visit during rains if possible.

Located in the heart of Mt Gambier. Makes you realise the whole area is prone to sinkholes with one here! We walked around before grabbing dinner. It's so neat to have this here and accessible to the public, even though you can't go all the way down.

We stumbled across this beautiful garden which goes underground. We stopped in one of the main streets of Mt Gambier to look at our map for the next stop during our road trip and saw this place was right next to us! We enjoyed the scenic walk down the stairs and back up again. Very well maintained garden.

Well, giving it a 5 stars for the hole it created millions of years ago. Need to wait for the rain to see the waterfall into the deep end, the brochure enticed me to go there, but when I was there, it's sunny and hot, I can see garbage down under. A quick note. The cave is in the city. So finding a car park can be tricky. Also, the building located beside the cave is the Civic centre. So if you want to know more about the Cave and Mount Gambier, head in to watch the documentary about it.

This is a little wonderful surprise right in the middle of the city in Mt Gambier. We didn't know about this the last time we were here. It is way smaller than Umpherston Sinkhole but it still gives you wonderful sight to your eyes.

Right in the centre of town. The big hole in the ground.

Alas the gardens were not as spectacular the day we saw them, as we had been led to believe by some of the photographs. They were still beautiful and worth the visit. I'm sorry we couldn't stay late enough for the light and sound show. Next time!

Small garden but it’s very unique and beautiful!
I love all the roses that blooms in this garden <3 There’s no access to the cave but seeing it from the top is better than enough.

Amazing.

The Cave Garden located within the middle of the town was a treat to be able to take a short stroll down and have a look.

It is an easy climb down as it is just all paved and straight forward in getting to. There are multiple informational displays for you to read and learn a bit about how this sinkhole was formed.

A must see with the family.

Follow me and join me on my next adventure!

This was the first sinkhole I have ever been to and thought it was spectacular. It was amazing that such a hole is situated in the middle of the town. This is not something I would have expected.

The whole depth, garden and that we were able to climb down and explore was fun.

The kids especially loved this sinkhole, they loved running down, looking over, climbing the rocks and looking for little secret passages/carvings that they could go into and explore.

If you are in town I recommend coming here for a visit.

What a nice little walk around the gardens and down to the cave,it's a small cave but worth a look. It'd be better if the council kept the bottom area clean but worth a look. There was a bees nest on one side but seemed safe enough being there.

So inconspicuously sitting right in the heart of the town. You will think its just a small park from the road if you didn't read the signs or didn't know there's actually a sinkhole in there.
