Kimberly made my renting experience a breeze! She was incredibly professional and helpful and gave me a full tour of Woolooware Bay including all its amenities which no other agent had done before for me. Thanks to her, I had keys within a week of applying! She was super friendly and just made the entire process quick and easy which is exactly what I needed! A million thanks to her and the team.

Nathan and the team at the agency are number one. Very nice family run business. Not the biggest but the best. Tried another agency in the area to sell my house, promised the world but couldn't delivered. Took it to nathan and sold it in two weeks. Got me
more then I asked for.

As a potential buyer our experience with The Agency Cronulla was atrocious, disrespectful and dishonest. Their use of manipulative and extremely misleading sales tactics ruined the first home buyer experience for us. Stalling, lying and eventfully giving us no choice but to withdraw due to not understanding their vendors needs after a 3 week negotiation, blaming their vendors for their behavior without a competing offer at them time. On 3 separate occasions they asked us to come and sign a contract after an agreement had been made to then cancel within in the hour saying more was needed or the settlement period had changed from 8 to 12 weeks. Finally having both an agent (Dane) and a senior agent (Bernadette) lie in writing that a contract had been countersigned and would be at the solicitors in the morning to then wake to them asking for more money again and say the contracts were never signed.

They also suggested that the vendors may be getting divorced and that's why they cannot decide on selling. After withdrawing until a decision of whether it was going to be on the market, we found it was under offer within the week without even a courtesy call.

A truly poor and mentally draining experience that i would not recommend anyone get involved with them as a vendor or buyer based on our interaction, which also seems to be consistent with other reviews.

Dishonest and unbelievably UNETHICAL experience on misuse of power by Nathan Berlyn and Kimberly as our property manager.

Nathan (Kimberly's boss) needed a place for his own family urgently but could not find something appropriate in the market so then looked within his own database for leases expiring. He found our property of which the landlord (a property developer with multiple properties) had signed all rights to The Agency to act on their behalf and so Nathan took it upon himself to send termination notice to us around 3pm on our last day of our lease on the basis that the landlord was moving back in, even though it was actually for himself to move into. (I only came to this knowledge 6 months after we had moved out).

Two months prior to our lease terminating, I spoke with Kimberly to arrange renewal however was advised that it would be more advantageous to allow it to roll over as market was hot and landlord had not reached out to increase rent.

We were given 28days to move out instead of 90days as we were technically provided notice within the lease period. And when I asked if there was flexibility (even a week or so) - I was denied.

At the time, I had a new 2month old baby and 3yo and partner working long hours in the hospital. This became the most overwhelming and stressful few weeks of my life. Not because I had to organise a move out of a large duplex myself but because the market simply had next to no similar places to move into.

This was our first time renting so I also didn't fully understand my rights as a tenant which I found out later meant that as long as I paid my rent, then legally I am allowed to stay until I found something suitable.
ALL RENTERS- PLEASE NOTE THIS!

I literally broke myself adhering to the 28day timeline provided to leave.

Of course at the time, I had no idea that the landlord did not infact have any knowledge of our termination. It was by sheer chance that our old neighbour who knew the landlords called them 6months later complaining about the state of the front yard which had "The Agency" signs everywhere and was in a generally poor condition that led him asking why the landlord had kicked us out to begin with. The landlord was confused and said that they were told that we had moved out at our own decision and that's when the inconsistency of stories led to the truth coming out.

I have since spoken to the landlords who feel bad for my experience but unfortunately will not provide any written evidence for me to take formal action as they are in a deep business relationship with Nathan B which obviously complicates things.

We tried to escalate this matter internally to Head office of The Agency who initially sounded sympathetic and asked for a detailed email of events to investigate. However their "investigation" involved sending this email to Nathan which led him to call me.... Does this seem like a solid investigation process to you??

The sheer injustice of my experience makes me sick.

I'm writing this to caution any renters so they would not experience what I did (as rare as I hope this must be) but also to Vendors as I certainly would not want to consider a company that allow such unethical, inhumane behaviour from their staff.

Nathan only had his own interests in mind when selling me an off the plan purchase. Sold to me as Two bed, two bath and full size study, turned out to so much less. He then made little attempt to support me in on-selling the property before settlement. He didn't respond to emails or phone calls. Worst real estate in the Shire by a country mile

The only thing Bernadette sold well was herself. Managed to achieve a sale at hundreds of thousands less than valuation. Advised us to outlay money on furniture rental, painters, landscapers, building report and marketing - all a waste of money. Biggest financial mistake of my life going with Laing and Simmons Cronulla.
