Dr Jane Givney

I saw Dr. Ghaith Al-badri, coming from the US, for cellulitis treatment while on holiday, I was very very impress with Dr. Al-badri, he took the time to exam the wound, drained the abcess, explained in detailed how to take care of the wound and what to do in case it got worse. He was kind, compassion and obvious knew what he was doing. He spent a good 20 minutes with me, definitely not something that happen in typical doctor's office in the US. Plus it was only $70 since I am a foreigner.

Dr Givney is a wonderful caring practice. The staff are professional, friendly and helpful.

An absolutely outstanding doctor who gives each patient her undividing attention. I have personally been seeing her for over 30 years as my family practitioner. I have always been treated as a person and not a statistic. She is always up to date with the current evidence based treatments. She educated you on pharmaceutical treatments and also anything you are unsure of. Has saved my life on multiple occasions. Am truly blessed to have her as my treating physician. I will only see her. I don’t even go to medical centres. I’ll wait for her and only her.

I have move to the area from Wollongong and am looking for a compassionate, understanding and co-operative female doctor.
I suffer from Fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, Depression and Anxiety. I have suffered from Fibro and ME since I was 24 and Depression and Anxiety since I was 35. I will be 66 next month and am female.
I have had all the tests under the sun and just want to have my usual scripts each month, which are ……
120 Panadeine Forte tablets
20 Endone (5mgs)
50 Valium

I also take Luvox, Inderal, Somac, Lasix daily.

Any feedback would be enormously appreciated.

Not sure how our family would manage without her!

The best general practice in the Shire.

Twice now I have made an appointment to see Dr Jane Givney, both times I have been left waiting for an hour not to be seen. The first time I waited I was informed it was normal for her to be running an hour late which is fine, I understand it happens, the receptionist told me it was best to call ahead next time just to make sure the Dr is running on time. When I booked my second appointment for today one of the receptionists called me at 8.30am and confirmed I would be seen at 2.30pm, she assured me there was a note on my profile about the last time I was left waiting and that it would not happen again (as I was going in my lunch break which is an hour), I asked if I should call ahead and she said no and to turn up at 2.30pm, which is what I did. I arrived 5 minutes early for the appointment, I was left waiting over an hour again and had to leave as my lunch break was over. As mentioned I understand Dr's can run overtime, that is not the issue here, the issue is I was told I would be seen at 2.30pm yet I was left waiting, the receptionist working today could not have cared less. Please do not assure patients they will be seen at a certain time then leave them waiting, I would have been more than happy to go back to work for an hour and come back when it was my turn. In future I would suggest you be more transparent with your patients. Very disappointing.

Absolutely diabolical. I specifically asked for an appointment first thing after lunch and waited over two weeks for that appointment. I arrived ten minutes early then proceeded to sit there until 2:15 when I politely asked if I would be seen soon. "No sorry, she is running late because the phones aren't working". Why that has an impact on her I do not know. Then I was told that there were others in front of me because she had changed her day around. A perfect example of one of those GPs who thinks their time is more important than any one else's. Do not see this GP unless you have plenty of time to kill.
