Indian Tavern Tandoori Restaurant

The food is simply impeccable, incredibly delicious, and authentically Indian, especially the lamb in the appetizer left me amazed. However, the portion is really generous; despite ordering a set menu for two, we couldn't finish it. Considering the price, it's truly fantastic.

Seated really quick, ordered a chicken tikka masala with rice and nan, food was served fast and hot. Asked for Indian hot as I find Aussie hot pretty tame. They were kinda spicy not like I’ve had at other Indian restaurants. I came back 2 days later as the food was so good on the first visit. The second visit didn’t disappoint either. Highly recommended if you’re eating in Wagga Wagga.

Loved our dishes, fush Malabar and chook chilli masala. Heaps of flavour and cooked perfectly.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I've eaten at many Indian restaurants over the years and can honestly say that the food served here was hands down the best Indian meal I've ever been served. Atmosphere is lovely, service commendable, and the food is amazing. A fabulous night out.

My favourite Indian, we stop in here whenever we’re in Wagga. I can never go past their amazing butter chicken.
Their banquets are great value for money and the service is fantastic; they’re genuinely happy to have you there. We always leave smiling and full.

We ordered takeaway for 18 people. The food was amazing. Reasonable priced as well. Quantity was great too. What stood out for us was the owner who look our order, she was very polite and it was a pleasure placing the order with her. She patiently repeated the order twice since it was a pretty long one. She also threw in some complimentary papadums.

Overall, I highly recommend this place for the hospitality and the taste.

Food was amazing, so was the owner she knew it was ramadan and we were fasting she made our meal completely free. I hope God blesses her business and give her in abundance. She definitely made my day.

One of the joys travelling to rural Australian towns is visiting little gems like this that aren't subject to the fashion food trends of the big cities. These are old school classics done well with the hospitality of country folk. Love the retro decor these places have and it's the last bastion of local eateries before the big restaurant groups buy up all the pubs and clubs and gentrify and modernise a slice of hospitality history.
The spice levels here aren't dumbed down, the naan here is perfectly fluffy, garlicky and cheesy. The sauces are rich and complex and have layers of flavours as you work through them. A true sign of expertise of working with spices are those that cook the oils out of the spices, those that don't will always end up in reflux or heartburn. Indian Tavern is one of the best, west of Harris Park or Parramatta. Their flavours are sublime, the service is warm and friendly and most of all a welcome and a farewell is always there for you. One of the best spots to eat in Wagga.

Best food after a long time. Authentic indian , try some tikka chicken masala with garlic naan or keema naan. No one will regret.

This is by far the best Indian we have had and we have tried many. We live 5 hrs away absolutely worth the trip.
