We had the pleasure of dining here on Friday night. Was a little trepidatious after reading some of the reviews but we needn't have worried!
We had the tasting menu with matched wines. The night started superbly with deliciously inspired cocktails followed by tasty and unique wines and courses that were flavour bombs!
The servers were attentive and knowledgeable and the dining room well thought out for a lovely relaxing evening.
Would highly recommend!

Monster went above and beyond to make our small wedding registration event special. We've always loved Monster, and it's been a favourite of ours. So when we needed a place for our close friends and family to celebrate our wedding registration, choosing Monster was an easy decision. We talked to Luke, who was incredibly helpful and got everything set up for us.

On the day of the event, Luke, Prabin, and the whole team were amazing. They set up a cosy spot for us by the bookshelves, which was perfect for our small ceremony. They even arranged champagne bottles and our cake in a beautiful way. The food was delicious and came out on time. They even gave us a complimentary dish to congratulate us.

Their efforts made our day incredibly special, and we're so thankful for that. Monster made our wedding registration unforgettable, and we're so grateful for their hard work and care. We wouldn't' have had it any other way. Thanks wonderful team.

Monster’s decision to go 100% plant-based has actually lifted the food to new heights even for people like us, who are not vegetarians.
Not only does it do great food for vegans and vegetarians, even those who wouldn’t normally choose these dishes will be delighted by the food.
Most of it is also GF, so this place ticks all the boxes if your family has problems choosing a restaurant because of dietary restrictions.
Service is good, the layout nicely spaced, and the absence of meat means the prices are great value for the quality of the food and service.
If you’ve never fancied vegetarian food before, Monster will be a very pleasant surprise.

What a wonderful evening! At the recommendation of our lovely server, we ordered the stuffed cabbage which was one of the nicest meals I have ever eaten. For those that like meat, you honestly wouldn't have known that the filling was veggie based! The eggplant was deliciously flavoursome with a variety of textures and the beetroot was good to cleanse the palate, just not as mindblowing as the eggplant miso and the apple and cabbage.
For dessert, we shared a Lavender Creme Brulee which was kind of deconstructed.
Throw in some Gin and Tonics and the meal was memorable!

Loved this place - it’s the lobby of the Ovolo Nishi hotel and pretty active. Great service, always had very friendly and attentive staff. Entirely vegetarian menu but lots to enjoy. I ended up going there 3 nights during the week I was staying down the street at Peppers Gallery. One huge advantage: they are open late - I got there just before 10 and everything else in the area was closed. I really liked their veggie burger (pictured). The next night I had tempura zucchini flowers and mushroom potstickers (also pictured) - delicious. I also had the roasted cauliflower and though it good but not quite the same level. Overall it was a really good experience and I would recommend.

We had an amazing dinner! The atmosphere was really pleasant and we had a really great server Jake who made our experience wonderful. Will definitely be coming back next time we are in Canberra!

We had dinner here and found the atmosphere very nice. They have creatively used plant based ingredients in their delicious food. Service was friendly and food served promptly. A great place to have some good vegetarian food.

Pleasantly surprised by the vegeterian menu on offer. Had the Winter Feasting Menu which is a three course. The corn ribs and the butternut squash katsu were my favourite. Also very much enjoyed the lavender creme brulee.

My wife and I had the degustation and added in the cauliflower as mains. We loved all of it (my wife especially) phenomenal food and service. The waitress friola was amazing and knowledgeable.

I've dined at Monster 2 or 3 times before they switched over to a vegetarian menu. I've had drinks here a few times too. This time, I just had a coffee. I always love it here: the architectural design, the artwork, the relaxed mood... It's so beautiful!

I took my mum here to celebrate her birthday and we had a fantastic time. The food and wine were amazing and our waiter was fantastic. We were recommended the green tea dessert and it did not disappoint! Thanks for a great dining experience Monster!

We've been here a few times. It's hard to get gourmet vegetarian so this place is great. We had the set menu for 75 a head...Corn ribs, Beet Tartare, momos, cauliflower and for dessert creme brulee and chocolate mousse. There was so much food! My only criticism is the rich mousse at the end. I would have liked something lighter.

Lovely place, it was my second time back here. I love the atmosphere, the food, the music and cocktails at monster kitchen and bar. I love the vibe and it's really a special place and a MUST got to. Very impressive entry as well.

Ambience is key here at Monster, and is executed brilliantly. The large space feels cozy and busy even when early in the night. The kooky interior design will leave you almost too fascinated to order quickly.

The burratta has our table enthralled from the outset. The eggplant main followed through and felt like a dish made with a lot of love and intent. The muscles and lamb shoulder also performed brilliantly, leaving a picky set of diners very happy. Be sure to leave space for pudding; the chocolate, coffee and hazelnut makes for a genius little take on a well-known pallet combination.

The drinks list has strong game with interesting Japanese beers for the hop-and-barley connoisseur, while a well curated wine list will provide plenty of choice to fuel good chat.

Go here for a superbly curated dinner, enjoying every mouthful of delicious, and enjoy wondering at every aspect of the experience!

YEAR OF VEGE 🔥🔥🔥 loved the set menu (80pp) - I had vegan version, friends had regular vegetarian version - all were fabulous! Stand out was the watermelon sashimi for me. All was great dishes, super varied and nothing boring. Can't beat the atmosphere and decor at Monster of course too. Definitely a place to take out of towners. Hope the vege continues!

Finally a restaurant in Canberra that is more fine dining for vegans / vegetarians. The space is absolutely beautiful. The staff are pleasant and the food is lovely.
