The whole experience was so nice. What an amazing Doctor . Dr Justin is the one of the best doctor you can ever find to do vasectomy. No pain whatsoever and it took only 12-15 minutes. I am nurse by profession and with my experience I would say one or the best place to have procedure done .Whole environment was so friendly and such a professional people . Nurses were amazing too .
My suggestion to anyone who is thinking of vasectomy Marie’s clinic is best place you can find. Procedure is not painful and team at Marie’s make it more painless by way they approach .
It’s 10/10 for whole experience .

I had a vasectomy performed in Canberra. The team was professional, polite and put my mind at ease. The procedure was easy and felt very little pain or discomfort in whilst recovering. The surgery exceeded my expectations and certainly would encourage others guys to use Marie Stopes. My surgeon Dr Justin Low was amazing.

The doctors respected my decision to get a vasectomy aged 26. Professional, courteous, and thorough; 2 years with zero missed periods means my partner and I are very happy. I couldn't be more grateful.

Excellent clinic, second time I have been there an would recommend to anyone! Was quite busy this morning and the waiting room was full so I stood (which I was totally happy with) the Clinic manager found me somewhere to sit down and wait and hand delivered my medical certificate to me - little touches like that make the service so much more meaningful! Also Emma & Gillian were lovely, so funny and considerate - made me feel safe and gave me all the information I needed :)

They were understanding and informative. They will ensure the decision is right for you! If you are unsure it is worth speaking to them anyway.

They were also careful to ensure it was my decision and ensured this hard decision was well informed. They showed me the ultrasound. This is the worst position I have ever been in, in my life. They were ready to answer every question I had and provided me with facts when I asked about birth control.

I was able to make an informed decision to ensure this wouldn't happen again. My partner and I were grateful to have their support and understanding.

Right from the get go I knew I wasn't ready for a child. I was upset that I fell pregnant even though we'd taken precautions. My Christian upbringing and my school scared me away from hormonal birth control. After doing my own research and speaking with qualified medical professionals provided by Maria Stopes I was able to make an informed decision to prevent these hard decisions coming up in the future.

I'm forever grateful for the help I received, as I know I would have tried anything to prevent the potential child being led into a world of uncertainty, due to circumstances at the time.

They will ensure the decision is right for you! If you are unsure it is worth speaking to them anyway.

Great clinic, staff were extremely friendly, professional and have a brilliant bedside manner. I felt very comfortable throughout the experience. The appointment went smoothly. First I sat down for the pre-op chat with the nurse, it was very straightforward, they answered any questions I had and really put my mind at ease, then I got into my gown and had the small area you need shaved done (don't manscape yourself as any nick might count you out as it is an infection risk). After that it was off into the theatre. In theater the doctor (I had Dr Justin Low who was great and made me feel very comfortable and at ease) will get you all setup in the chair and give you a bedadine wash. Then came the local anaesthetic, at worst I felt the tiniest pinch and then nothing. The vasectomy itself is painless, the needle you get for an immunisation or donating blood hurts more, be preparred for the old block and tackle to be moved around and stretched a bit as the doc needs to move it around to get at what he needs to, but its very numb so you dont really feel anything much and Justin's bedside manner was brilliant so it didnt feel weird or awkward. Whole thing took about 12 minutes. Then the tiny little incision is sealed up and then your left to air out for 4 minutes (okay that part is a bit odd, but a few well timed ball puns helps the time go by). After theater you go into the post-op area where there is everthing you need to tidy up (bedadine kinda gets everywhere) and get changed along with a comfy chair and some well deserved snacks. Once your feeling up to it you can leave at your leisure. Overall the process is designed to make you feel as comfortable as possible and there is honestly very little pain at all.

UPDATE: its been about 5 days now since the vasectomy, there has been no issues, I get a little bit of discomfort like a very dull ache if ive been walking around for a while, that is easily addressed with panadol. Otherwise there have been no adverse effects and performance wise seems good to go. Pretty straightforward really.

Vasectomy with Dr Justin Low.
The process only used local anesthetic no need for general.
The procedure only took 10 mins and I didn't feel ANY pain at all even for the anesthetic injection.
Hopefully the recovery will be painless as well!

Had an IUS inserted here, doctors, nurses and all staff were lovely and kind and helped settle my nerves during the process. Local anaesthetic spray and almost pain free experience (slight cramping). Very professional

Good doctor. Bad administration staff-As a result, my appointment at 2pm turned out to be an appointment at 4.15pm. My procedure was very quick (10 minutes max) thanks to the good quality doctor. The admin staff didn´t take good control of appointments and they only realised my file was missing when I got up to ask why I had not been called yet (maybe they had realised before but I had not been called at that point). . Admin staff apologised when I left.

I am absolutely appalled and horrified at what happened to a dear friend of mine today. She was booked in for a surgical termination today 2 weeks ago, reception asked for past ultrasound, bloods, last period date and explained the prep for surgery. She showed up this morning and was told her BMI was too high for surgery today and would have to go through Canberra Hospital.

Why on earth was this not asked as part of pre procedure checks is beyond belief. To turn away already distressed patients on the day of surgery is ridiculous!

This complaint is to protect all women that will need this procedure in the future.

Please can the team change their booking system to include BMI check!!!!! I don’t want this to happen to any other women in the future. Who knows how many other women have gone through this already.

On top of being turned away, she was told if Canberra hospital does not contact her tomorrow to call them herself. Surely with the mistake from your clinic you would at the very least confirm 100% with Canberra Hospital or whatever clinic in Sydney that this procedure is critical and give my friend her next appointment date.

My dear friend has gone through a lot to come to this decision and to be turned away on the day is just heartbreaking. This should have never happened. No room for mistakes in an established clinic. She now does not know what is happening. Will this go ahead next week or not and to have to wait over the weekend is too long.

Sadly I couldn’t put no stars. I had an IUD inserted with this clinic. When I called after having issues close to 2 months in, I was advised by their nurse to wait 3 months for it to settle and adjust. After waiting 5 months I still had issues and called back to make an appointment to remove it. I was shocked to be told I had to pay $180 to get it removed when I was previously advised if I had issues with it these costs would be waived. I was then told if it is past 3 months you cannot have it removed free of charge. After listening to their nurses advice and waiting past the 3 months I am appalled that they would like to charge me for this. The lovely receptionist did her best to talk to upper management to get this resolved but I was told nothing could be done and if I wanted it out I’d have to pay $180. Luckily I called my GP and she was happy to remove it for me FREE of charge. I will NEVER use this service again and HIGHLY recommend you don’t either.

This clinic is so unbelievably poorly run. Expect to wait 5+ hours past your appointment time and to leave with an infection. Admin and management are rude and dismissive.
