We approached St Goerge for a mortgage our local branch in Dickson, ACT was initially very helpful. However, it soon became clear they were all words and no follow through when every deadline set was not met. We gave all the required information and paperwork at the point of application and were not asked for any additional info. After over a month in waiting, we lost a house we had applied for as Saint George were not able to approve our finance in a timely manner.

Terrible experience trying to refinance my home loan. I was told it would take two weeks, I gave it three before calling to check on the progress. I was told the loans manager was out of the office, and they would get him to call me back. Weeks later, he hadn't. I then tried going through a different branch, with only marginally better service. I would completely avoid this bank.

PAINstakingly slow service. Emphasis on the pain part!
The staff member who served me was not paying attention to what any customer he served asked him for, including myself, so we had to repeat what we wanted at least 4 times!
Very disappointed!
