German Butchery Deli & Café

Friendly staff, yummy specialty foods you can purchase to make at home or have prepared for you. We enjoyed white sausages with sweet mustard, brezel and a cappuccino. Very good value, and we left with a bag full of drinks and sweets to try at home.

I purchased our traditional Christmas meat (Kassler) from this butchery. Their produce is first class as is their service. Madeleine went out of her way to accommodate us. We will definitely be returning next year.

The food (we shared the meat platter for two) was amazing! A great variety of German food items, great baked goods and coffee available as well.

The German Butchery in Bexley North is a hidden gem for lovers of real German food.
They have absolutely authentic tasting German small goods and sausages as well as a small selection of pantry supplies.
We left with a big box of fresh Bratwurst, Leberkaes, Leberwurst, Frankfurters (Wiener Wuerstchen for those familiar) and other cold cuts as well as favourite German sauces and products from Thomy, Kuehne, Haendlmaier etc.
Seeing these hard to find products in Sydney like Remoulade, curry ketchup, sweet Bavarian mustard, Sauergurken, Knoedel etc made the family’s eyes light up and so it was easy to fill the empty space in our box.
We noticed that they also had some German style breads, brezn and cake slices for sale but we did not try them.
All the items are very reasonably priced. Parking is easy in the carpark adjoining.

An amazing hidden gem that specialises in German meat produce. My wife and I visited this place after looking at the reviews for a ham to serve for Christmas and we were pleasantly surprised. They have a wide range of German sausages, cured meats, ham, German groceries and a cafe that serves lunch and coffee. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we would not hesitate to visit again to support this local business.

Stumbled upon a local gem. Great value coffee and wagyu sandwich. The wagyu sandwich was a perfect size for a small bite. Will be back to try more of the menu!

Not only lovely service and delicious sausages, I even get my bread loaves from there ; a variety of yummy rye sour dough .

Incredible offering of not only small and dry goods but an affordable and delicious lunch menu! Staff are helpful and the outdoor seating was really pleasant to sit and enjoy our food. Will return!

The German Butcher is a true gem. It has great quality German products that are fresh, are of high quality and are incredibly tasty. The staff is also very friendly and make it a truly special experience. If you like German sausages and German/Austrian products in general you are at the right place.

Just devine. Large varieties of meat products, excellent home made sausages, European jams etc.

Always wonderful food and service. Love coming up here for a fresh roll and sometimes a German hot chocolate at lunchtime! A gem in the area, highly recommend.

Delicious food and lovely staff. We bought a Pražská šunka ham for Christmas and it was a massive hit. Kids love going there for the pretzels and cocktail frankfurts. They have nice fresh bread too. I only wish they did the cheese and sunflower seed pretzels again :-)

Great range of fresh and tasty produce. Friendly staff, excellent service. Ideal spot to drop in for a coffee and a bite to eat. You can browse their range online and their click and collect system works very well to ensure you don't miss out on any of their delicious baked goods.

A great and delicious range of German small goods lacking only ''Knackwurst and Cervelat'' so far. Their ''Leberkäse'' is as good as you can find in the entire world including Switzerland! Comment from a Swiss escapee.

Great team and large selection of cold cuts and sausages.
My Favorit is the „ Kassler „ thinly sliced and the „ Wurstsalad „ as well as the Leberkäse and the Swiss Bratwurst.
We will definitely be back for more .

Being Australian with German heritage I grew up eating German food and being amongst the now almost extinct German community here so I might be biased.

The products are a bit pricier then your standard Coles range however they are absolutely worth it for their quality and genuine flavours. They also sell products that are hard to get unless ordering from Germany itself. I am thankful for this. Haven’t had Almdudler in years.

I ate from their menu aswell and my mouth/mind took me back to Germany. I felt like I was at home with Oma.

In regards to other reviews about the staff. I think people might not understand German behaviour and culture/customs so they may think the staff are “rude” or “cold” when they are not. German hospitality/service is different to Australian. When I visited there was an motherly type lady and a cute younger one with tattoos. One of the girls was interacting with customers and explaining German meat to them and was absolutely wonderful to them.

The other girl may come across as rude as she did not smile or seemed to have the “fake” hospitality personality that Aussies demand. For me I liked her service but as I said I am biased because of my heritage and used to it.

Overall this place is a rare place. Very hard to get Genuine German products in Sydney. I wish them success.

Regular customer. Such tasty and good quality food! Always friendly and helpful staff. When I put in an order in lockdown they went the extra mile to deliver it asap. Highly recommend the very delicious sausages!

Amazing business with awesome staff putting in the extra effort needed to get through the pandemic that we all must face. They went above and beyond in assisting me with my order and any questions or issues I had.

Honestly, this is a standard of customer service that all businesses should strive for and this was only my first experience with them. I'll definitely be coming back!
