Three of the four things that we judge a fish & chip shop by, were up there with the absolute best!!
We finally have a place for amazing potato scallops again - theirs were fantastic.
The fish was equally good - cooked perfectly with an excellent crispy batter.
And the prawn cutlets were great - nice crumbed coating, large, and cooked perfectly.

The chips were ok but just not quite at the same standard as the rest - good enough to still give a full score on the review though. Unusual for most fish & chip shops, they also had a varied range of interesting salad options as well - that you can either have instead of chips, or as well as chips, and they looked incredible.

They had a sign on the counter apologising that staff shortages might affect service times, but we couldn’t fault them - we were still served quickly, and by lovely friendly staff. The food would be worth waiting for even if there had been a delay. We will definitely be back.

The Barra has $15 deal which have fish (crumbled or battered), chips and a variety of salad to choose from. I had whiting today.

The portion is big and filling, the fish is well made, fresh and tasty, salad is great especially you can choose what you like, and the chips are not deep fried so you can still taste the potato original flavour.

I think the shop is great for the price you pay. There is also a variety of fish you can choose from, some are more expensive the others but generally sensibly priced. Would recommend!

I love the set of salad fish and chips, they have a variety of salad and fish to choose having a chips for the side. We order battered white fillet and a chrunchy white fillet two set with a Chinese cabbage salad adding chilli sauce and a Eggs mayo coleslaw , very very satisfied!!
The portion is too large for us, we asked for a take away, they said not a problem which was really nice 👍, a had a good lunch here today.

The fish & prawn cutlets were very nice & they had a lovely variety of salads you could choose to have with your meal. The potato scallops were the best we’ve had for a very long time.

Excellent fish and chips. We always get takeaway so I can't really judge the atmosphere.

Made a large order during the week to be picked up Sunday. Called half an hour before pickup and everything was piping hot and ready. Service was excellent and efficient and food was beautiful. ❤

For a fish and chip shop/cafe the food was very nice and being able to book a seat was a bonus too.

The Barra is a takeaway first, but they put tables outside at night and allow BYO, and even supply glasses for your drinks.

The menu isn't huge, but that's not necessarily a bad thing as the quality is high.

Staff were friendly and slowed their (otherwise chaotic) pace to serve customers which was good to see.

Beautiful fish fillet and chips outside under the sun. Had the bream, chips and slaw. Everything super fresh!

Best seafood and today service by the young blonde girl at the till was so pleasant , attentive ,smiling a change from some of the young generation today

Ok, I came at the end of the night two days ago and tonight. The food is SO tasty. I had the perch special the other day and it was cooked to perfection and the flavour and the Crusty Noodle salad which in part had white cabbage and almonds and was so tasty with the other flavours. Then tonight I had the bream special with another different salad which I took as take away and it did not last long. The cook really knows how to cook fresh fish. Two times I have not been disappointed. Thanks Barra for two great sensational meals. The staff where also very polite. I forgot to take a photo because it tasted so good. Sorry but there will definitely be another time and then hopefully I remember to photograph it before I enjoy it.

This is my our favourite fish and chips! Absolutely delicious food. One of a kind by marinating the fish, and we always enjoy everything from there. It is a little bit pricey, but the fish is clearly fresh and absolutely delicious!The food is definitely worth the price.

The best fish and chips I've had in a very long time. The salad is so fresh and the calamari OMG so delicious.
Staff are really pleasant and the place is so clean.

Barra is our favourite go to for our weekly fish and chips treat. Definitely not your average chippy.
Perfectly cooked fish selection and fancy salads to compliment a variety of choices.
Fast and friendly service. Consistently excellent.

On Wednesday, I ordered a grilled Dory and a special snapper. I wanted them to cook both fish well done, both the fish were perfectly well done. The young chef made the food finger licking delicious
