Nice pretty and diverse walk , just the right length for a child about one hour each way with the big reward reaching the Karloo pool for a nice swim and picnic. You can sit in the waterfall for a natural "spa". The walk is rated as hard because the path is uneven with steep climbs and descents over rocky uneven terrain. It is not very challenging but can be very slippery in wet weather.

A great hike. Not busy on a weekday but packed on the weekends. It's a good track on the way to the pools and on to the falls, slightly challenging for a beginner with good views and wildlife.
The pools and waterfall are great break spots.
The hike out from the falls is on fire trail and isn't remarkable but it's easy and quick.
Plan on spending 3 hours doing the full 12K including breaks.

Medium decent walk track, to Karloo Pool. Worth the effort once you reach the pool for a dip. After that a return trip back up the same route.

The pool was wonderful with easy access into it. The walk was challenging for me , an unfit 67yo woman, but I made it with some help from my family. There were quite a few people there.

The walk back to the train station from the pools was quite steep. A good workout, but plenty of gorgeous views.

Definitely a slightly challenging walk, but, well worth the effort. Recommended for couples, groups of friends, small families (kids who can ideally walk already). Not recommended for wheelchairs, older folk with walking issues, or for taking your mother-in-law on (unless you get on well with each other). The pools at the end are delightful, so get your good shoes on and get walking!!

Great hike down to the pool.
The water is very cold but refreshing after the hike.

The hike to Karloo pools is around 1 hour one way. Be prepared to sweat it out going down, and ensure you have adequate sun protection as there isn’t much shade. Once you reach the pools, you can enjoy a nice and cool swim or venture further for a camping site or other places to swim.

Kids and most adults can do this walk... There was one or two spots that might be difficult for those with unsteady legs or seniors.... Best to wear shoes that have grip..... I slipped a few times . The water pool was an absolute treat for half way mark.. also was warm which was super pleasant.

Amazing spot in Heathcote National Park
We did the bottle forest track down and Karloo Pools track back up. The track was very muddy and wet, quite steep. Along the river there was debris from the floods but overall it was a great bush walk

Amazing natural pools with lots of little private spots to relax, small and big rocks to climb and chill, great for swimming, you can spend the whole day there. Interesting walk too, about 30-40min, moderate due to uneven rocks and some slippery surfaces, we loved it! 🏞🙌👌🤗

The walking track is rated hard and we started from Heathcoat station which is better as compared to Waterfall station. The walk is amazing with beautiful flora and views. Take time to enjoy the views and the lovely creation. The pool at the end of this walk is amazing to swim. Crystal clear water with lobsters and eel was just cool. This walk has lot of shades compared to walk from Waterfall. Have good sole shoes as the number of rocks on the way could be slippery.

A great bush walk close to Sydney. Steep in parts with a few large rocks, the long walk snakes along a water runoff path to a fresh water pool.

8hr parking is available near the entrance and no permit is required.

Great walk. Started at Waterfall train station and headed for Heathcote. Kept the best part of the track till last with a climb out of the beautiful pools at the end.
I'm not a frequent trekker and found it a moderate walk with some steep rocky climb towards the end. Take some water, take a hat, take sunscreen and your swimmers for a cool dip. Caught train back to Waterfall to pick up car.

Go during the week if you can as there would be much less people using the rock pool.

There are toilets along the way but don't expect to like them.

Beautiful track for a nice hike. Not too difficult, the track down though is quite steep.

Reasonably easy track from heathcote station, took about 40min to reach the pool, there is some rock scrambling but not difficult.

Fantastic workout. Definitely take water. Lots of uneven ground and steep terrain, but comfortable enough for our 6 year old to complete. The pools at the end make it worthwhile. Definitely wear swimmers to take a dip, water is amazing!!
