Kookabar Cafe

I had the most delightful experience at Kookabar today! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and friendliness. The service was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond. As for the food, it was simply outstanding. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I especially loved the prawn pasta
Overall, I highly recommend Kookabura to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

The Kookabar cafe down in Bowral is just located off the main street near the Coles carpark.
I had breakfast of Eggs Benedict with bacon. Plenty of bacon and the eggs were perfect.
The staff are friendly and you can practise your French with the owner.
Defo a place to check out if you're down this way. They also have lunch.

Fabulous little gem of a cafe. Much better value for money. Worth a quick walk from imperial hotel. Eggs Bennie with bacon and small latte. $8 cheaper. This is my go to when visiting Bowral Perfect.

This place should have a queue out the door everyday based on the quality of their food and service - I have the pumpkin topped toast with poached eggs and it was as delicious as it was beautifully presented. Only suggestion I make is to update the interior and branding (lose the plastic covered menus, re-do the chalk board, move the drinks fridge to the back/out of site) and make it feel like a fresh, modern cafe, or go all-in on the cafe bookshop vibe instead. The vibe is all that’s missing to make this Bowral’s #1 cafe.

This is a cute little spot in the heart of Bowral... With a very feel at home setting.. the food was amazing and so was the service (super friendly).

extensive menu usually with some surprising specials and other non- standard cafe fare. Good, tasty food cooked and baked by the owner/chef. Friendly and efficient service, again personally overseen by the owner/chef who has often served us.

Prices also are reasonable.

On this last occasion I had the ham minestrone soup with sourdough bread which was delicious.

Asked for a milkshake today hoping it wouldn’t come in a glass jar. Well, it didn’t. It came in the tall aluminium container it was made in AND it was made with ice cream!! Such a pleasant surprise. We will be back. Have been to other places in Bowral where you pay $8’s for a glass jar!!

Place was packed with locals which was a great sign. Was seated quickly and food came out even quicker. All staff were attentive and really personable. Would also be a great place for a coffee and cake/scone as morning or afternoon tea. Will visit again when in Bowral.

This was the most delicious big breakfast I’ve ever had, and the coffee was brilliant! Nice job Kookabar!!

This is a fantastic cafe with very friendly service and tasty, good food.
The owner went above and beyond to seat our table of 7 and made us instantly feel welcome. Our breakfast was delicious, kids meals were awesome and the coffee was perfectly made that we even had seconds.

We randomly stumbled on this lovely place while walking around Bowral, what caught my eye on the menu was the croque monsieur (French delicacy) so we stopped to have a bite. Turned out the owner/chef is French, the food was absolutely fantastic and the croque monsieur was delicious and my partner loved the French onion soup. But on the of the great and tasty food, the owner and staff was a delight to talk to. Great atmosphere with friendly staff. When we finished our meal, they invited us inside to show us around and tell us about the history of the place (20 years old). Before leaving, the owner offered us a free almond croissant and madeleine (he saw me starring at the croissant when we were chatting). I offered to pay but he insisted it was on the house. Tasted the croissant and madeleine as soon as we left and 100% authentic French pastries, it was delicious. Can't recommend enough this place. Thanks again and we'll be back next time we're in Bowral

Such a great find! The food was excellent and the service so good 😊 We found this place by chance and were delighted that it’s French. My son loved his Carambar! Pascal and Julien are lovely guests (and Pascal is a great cook!!). Thank you 🙏🏻

Outstanding customer service and the food was fantastic. The staff are so on the ball and the food matched the service. The scotch fillet was good quality (tinder, juicy and well seasoned) and the mushroom sauce was epic. Gotta try the zuchini fritters as well. JUST GO HERE!

Shhhh! Don't tell everyone about this place. It's my new fav and I don't want to miss out on getting a table when I pop in. I want to soak up all of the smells and flavour on my plate, the wonderful attentive service and atmosphere. Oh and have a lovely chat to the chef about his culinary delights.

Steak with prawns cooked perfectly. Serice was great.

This is my favourite cafe in Bowral though my dog probably loves it even more than I do with all the attention he gets from the lovely owner.

Catch up with workmates! Good coffee, lovely lunch. I did prebook as there was between 4-6 coming. We enjoyed it very much!
