Charming captivating and curious
We have been here many times when we stayed at Berrima and on our way from Sydney to Canberra. Whether it’s breakfast, coffee and cakes or lunch all good. Run by charming people a little eccentric which is perfectly match to the interesting interior of the cafe which is full of antique furniture and paintings. Tables set with white table cloths and lovely china. Recommend the omelettes, spicy beef salad and pastries.
Utterly charming and absolutely a must visit, booking essential for lunch on the weekend.

Magpie’s cafe, a delightful cafe restaurant tucked away from the main street of Berrima is well worth a visit. We had their amazing Duck Pie, and wish we had room for their mouthwatering cakes, slices and muffins that are on display. The coffee was great too.

I would love to give 6 stars for atmosphere. This place is worth the drive. If you are in the area it is a wonderful country cafe with old school charm and country hospitality. The food was large country serves and honest for its guests. Nothing over the top and prices are reasonable.

Amazing delicious hearty chicken spinach pie with side green vegetables and twice cooked duck pie with pear and raspberry salad. Delicious homemade cakes, a cabinet full. Absolutely, in our humble opinion, the best cafe in the southern highlands for food and far superior to Bowral (sorry Bowral). Yes a little more expensive but you pay for what you get. Quality, generous, hearty highland meals.

Great service and food. A cozy little cafe with a fireplace and a beautiful cakes display. Prices are more than what you would normally pay but the food is exceptional. The chicken and leek pie was fab. Hot chocolate hit the spot and the cakes were pretty good too.

Read good reviews on the scones online and came all the way to Berrima to try for myself. It did not disappoint! It was lunch time so we thought to start with some savoury. The pumpkin soup served with thick, freshly made bread and the chicken and leek pie was amazing. Scones were moist with delicious fresh jam and cream. The only thing that was a tad disappointing was how weak the tea was. The shop was nicely decorated and there's a little section that sold condiments. I also loved their huge selection of desserts including sticky date pudding and an amazing-looking fig, ginger and chocolate pavlova. I need to visit them again soon to try it all!

AMAZING FOOD MADE HERE!!

This cafe-restaurant serves the most delicious meals. Great menu with something for everyone. We close the grilled barramundi.
The house made cakes on display are taste sensations. It’s a tough decision on what to pick. We chose the baked apple crumble cheesecake with extra thick cream. Delish 😍
A fabulous place to dine!!

What a gem in the Southern Highlands, NSW. Magpie Cafe offers great dining experience in Berrima. The place is buzzing. We had brunch here and knew we had to be back for afternoon tea same day. The food was delicious, friendly vibes, good service and very entertaining live music. I have to make special mention of their duck pie. Sensational flavours! A must place to visit when you're in Berrima!

We had such a great visit in the morning, we went back in the afternoon! Staff is super friendly and meals were delicious. Recommend the curry sauce over poached eggs for breakfast and the duck pie for lunch! Kudos to the chef!!

The food here is always amazing quality and so delicious. We really enjoyed the chicken pot pie and pasta. Decided to stay for a pot of tea and cake, as the woodfire smell and aesthetic of the cafè is so comforting. I always try to come here when in the area.

There is a rustic charm with the Magpie Cafe. The ambience, exquisitely presented food, fabulous caring and hardworking staff . It is easily my favourite cafe in the highlands and it's dog friendly. If you haven't tried the Magpie Cafe amazing Birds-nest Cake you are missing out on one of life's indulgent pleasures....Jan is a supreme talent

A quaint Cafe in Berrima. Just a delight to visit. Lovely staff very friendly. The place has an old world atmosphere. Breakfast was generous and well presented, very enjoyable would come again.

Magpie is spectacular. Easily 10 out of 5. The food is wonderful and very special. We had a selection of cakes and coffees. It's always been very good. And definitely up with the very best you can get any where. Highly recommend

Excellent piccolo. Strong not butter. Amazing fig ginger and choc merengue. We always come here when driving to Sydney. Great relaxing venue in a historical setting.

When it comes to food, you get what you pay for. Everything from coffee, to chips and pastries was of the highest quality. Service was also excellent. Highly recommend.

On a cold and drizzly day this place added some warmth and comfort. Fantastic service and delicious food. Beautifully brewed coffee and some very tempting home made sweets for after. Definitely worth the stop. Only suggestion would be for the menu to display prices

We had a very good time in Magpie Cafe, sitting outside in the shadow, had good coffee, salad and the self made Cake was delicious. We stayed 2 days in this area, coming from Canberra on the way to Sydney and relaxed in this peaceful place with the funny birds around. Must do in Berrima. Tourists from Berlin

For many years we have been lunching here at least once a year with friends from Canberra. It is always a treat, especially the wonderful cake and dessert selection. A peaceful place with good service to linger and chat.
