Dum Dickson Indian restaurant

Ordered chicken 65, Momo, fish pakora, Bengali dal, prawn jalfrezi, butter chicken, garlic naan, mango lassi. Everything was delicious & you won’t be disappointed with any of the them. Even the kids ate well which was a pleasant surprise given we don’t have much spice at home. We’ll be back with friends.

Brought my parents who are from the Indian subcontinent who wanted some authentic Indian food for dinner. To my delight I was pleasantly surprised with the food and service. My father who is an Indian food connoisseur mentioned that he absolutely loved the Dum Goat Curry which was slow cooked for 8 hours while my mother finished the entire Chicken Chettinad accompanied with a Garlic Naan. She even ordered a second Naan to slurp up the rest of the curry sauce from the main dishe.

What I'm trying to say here is that the food was incredible, and I was thrown back by how well my Indian subcontinental parents reviewed it. The service was amazing too and the atmosphere had a nice cultural vibe. I highly recommend a visit to the Dum Dickson Indian Restaurant!

I have been to this restaurant many times and dining experiences here have always been great. Food is always delicious, staff always very friendly, prices are quite reasonable, vibe inside is also very nice.

There are only few indian restaurants in Canberra where you can buy food without having to worry about having a bad experience.
And this restaurant is one them.

The Chef knows what he is doing....he has chicken galouti kebabs which to my knowledge not any restaurant have.
They are perfect!!

And there curries the taste was perfect and tasty with no extra oil!! Which is PERFECT.

And the price here is reasonable as well.
I ordered online and I loved it so that means they are true to their service to their online customers as well cause I have tried most of the indian restaurants and I can say this is one of the TOP 5.

Nice marinated flavored Lamb Chop and the kebab is also juicy and flavorful. Lamb Rohan Josh is tender and good mix with some coconut rice.

Delicious food and the service was excellent and very accommodating to our chilli-averse kids. Absolutely going back if we're in the area. Recommend the Chana Masala.

Great food that has lots of flavour. Wonderful staff that are super helpful.

Have been here a dozen times. Always amazing food. Never messed with our orders even though there is usually a group of us. Very reasonable cooking time and attentive staff. My friend is vegan and they amended some dishes to meet their needs. When I asked to make it very spicy it was actually very spicy which made me sweat and cry but I loved it. Rarely do you find a properly spicy food in Canberra. But my friends who don't eat spicy equally enjoyed their regular dishes. When we need a place to catch up - the choice is always simple Dum.

We had a family lunch here and the food was superb 👍.

Best curry in Dickson by far.. food fresh and well spiced. Serving consistently great food every time we come here.

I had Chicken Jalfrezi "Indian Hot" which really hits the spot on a cold winters evening.
We also had a sensational chicken Kadhai, medium hot, with Kema nans rice and Rotti.

Beers and good selection of house wine..

Was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. This is not your run of the mill Indian restaurant. The flavours are authentic and the food is delicious. Will definitely go again.

As described by my 6yr old daughter - the Butter Chicken was really nice and the colourful (Christmas) lights and the like curve of the roof was really cool. The seats were really comfortable. The food came really quickly. It was really cosy, it felt like home.

We dined at this place 2 nights in a row despite having multiple options. It was just too difficult not to. We had the Goat Curry and the Leg of Lamb, multiple entrees and breads. The food and the service were both ridiculously good. Adam, the chef has worldwide experience and Ali, the waiter is also awesome. Do yourself a favour and eat here!

Terrible name but brilliant food! Honestly, we’d have tried Dum Dickson sooner, but the name does them no favours in Australian culture. HOWEVER any reservations you might have soon completely evaporate once you taste the food! Our goat curry was exceptional, with a stunning spicy tomato based house sauce over a very generous serve of perfectly cooked goat, and the palak paneer was similarly perfectly done. The naans were moist without being oily, and were the perfect combination of fluffy interior with crisp surface with a few char spots. After delaying trying here for so long, I think the only one “dum” here was me. Don’t be me.

Best Indian in Canberra, We had a goat curry with garlic naan it was delicious. Malai kofta was very yum. Chef has magic in his hands. Staff are polite and friendly, great service and was served very quick. This place is highly recommended for people who loves Indian cuisine.

Wonderful food. As good an Indian meal as you will find. Courteous, friendly and attentive service. Highly recommended. Partricularly liked the Xmas Samosas. The specials are always lovely. Butter chicken was excellent. The hot and spicy dishes are also great. My family and I often eat here and have never been disappointed.
