There were lots of carvings on the rocks and a few explanatory boards to show and descriptions of what it means and where it is. It’s a short educational trip about the spiritual lands. There wasn’t any water when we came by but apparently they spot a ship coming through the valley back then. Lots of pretty little wildflowers.

It is really worth stopping to take a look. There's a lot of signs that give explanations and help spot the rock carvings. Some are really hard to see.
It is recommended 45 min but it took me only 20 min, it all depends on how much time you stop to watch.
The site and walking path are spotless and extremely well looked after by rangers. 👍

The largest collection of Indigenous rock carvings in the world (over a million according to researchers) with some older than 40,000 years.

Well laid out park with sealed footpaths and many information boards. Very exposed in the summer months but pleasant in winter.

Best to go early in the morning or late afternoon when the sun is low in the sky to pick out the carvings easier against the rocks.

While travelling around Oz we love seeing Cultural rock art and petroglyphs.
These were amazing.
Very humbling seeing these ancient animal depictions in the rocks.
The signage is really informative and takes you on a journey.

Excellent set up for visitors. Probably good idea to do a tour for more info but is a pretty special place with 50000 year old petrographs carved into the rocks. Would be a huge tourist spot overseas. With a big industrial complex just across the road, it seems the WA government may not value this treasure so highly. Head up the road after to the cove and into the 4wd Park for more petrographs spotting.

It's such a lovely scenic spot with so much history. You can view rock paintings on the natural gorge. We went during dry season, so the river had dried up, but if you go through during wet season, I imagine the place would come to life

What a great display. We came 6 years ago and there were no paths or sign boards. Now there is a wonderful display that helps explain the importance of this site. Well worth a visit.

Go with a guide! Their stories add so much to the experience and some of the rock art is not easy for western eyes to pick out. The juxtaposition with the gas plant so nearby is ... Daunting? Certainly makes me think.
