Having spent a couple of months in Rockingham, this was our first visit to the Thrombolites. Interesting read about the history of this area and its importance. Afterwards, there is a walk, which we did, even spotted an Emu and found one of the Giants. Easy and free parking, public toilet on site.

The area of the parking lot contains restrooms as well as a place to relax. There is a lake that can be reached on foot in about five minutes from the location where you park your car. It is well worth the short detour that you took when you were on your road trip. The giant resting point is 30 min walk from the carpark.

It is a beautiful part of the southwest of Western Australia. It's also a nice place to stop off on your way down south. The car park area has toilets and some where to relax. From where you park your car, it's only a short 5 minute walk to the lake. More than worth the slight deviation during your road trip.

Stunning lake! How beautiful! After years I made it to see the thrombolites… it is mind blowing! Enjoy a quick walk on the wooden pathway and have the most resting pause you can have looking at this awesome scenery! There is also a quick hike around, if you re lucky you might see one of the Giant of Mandurah as well!

Great and interesting facts about the little organisms. Jetty is scenic as sun comes down. Has lots of spiders on the way though

An easy walk to the deck, but parking here can be difficult as it is next to a brewery that is packed with visitors.
There are no shades on the deck, so please come prepared.
It was great to see some ancient thrombolites and understand how it was formed.
No tickets required, it is an open place.

It's a real bargain that such rarities of nature can be seen without an entrance fee. With a wonderful boardwalk to allow visitors to admire the Thrombolites from a safe height. Although the most common remark you'll hear 🙉 when visiting this place is "don't they look like rocks 🪨?"

The truth is they do. But admiring and learning about such spectacular 😍 forms of nature is the cool bit. Given that in another part of the world 🌎, views like this would have been conveniently regarded "as just rocks 🪨", and either cheerfully discarded for redevelopment or vandalized with graffiti.

Best time is summer to be there around November to March to be able to clearly see the LIVING ROCKS.

The story of the formation of the lake is unique.

Bridge walk easy access car park toilet available.

Kids will love the story and when they will know that 2000 years old living rocks… it will mesmerise them… have fun

Beautiful, but incredibly windy and impossible to make a phone call. The plaques were informative and fascinating, the views were wonderful and you could very well have a foam fight if you could get the water!
A smaller walk than the one to the giant but a pleasant compromise in end.

How interesting! Very short walk from the carpark. Toilets and information board, sealed road in. Can be a bit windy but worth a stop in - there's a brewery just around the corner too!

Beautiful on a moonlit night.
Watch out for the spider webs and inhabitants over the path!

Definitely worth a look .. trick is trying to judge the tide for the best view as often under the water. Also have a Giant nearby ;)

Beautiful experience! The deck at the end for the lake was very windy but felt amazing. There are so many Thrombolites and it's such an amazing natural creation. There's a trail along, which is pretty standard and doesn't have a lot of views so we didn't complete it but it's good for a walk regardless.

Beautiful, tranquil and just the best place to relax and contemplate the existence of how life started on earth 🌎.

Lake Clifton Thrombolites is a must visit for anyone. It’s a short walk from the car park to find these ancient beauties. There are toilets here but are not for the feint hearted.
