Yang’s Dumpling

This is my second time here. My favorite thing here is the xiao long bao and dumplings. The waiter always has a smile and serves the food quickly.

I’ve been to Yang’s Dumplings a handful of times. Always enjoy the food here. It is usually not too busy so it’s a good spot if you want quick service. My favourites are the Pan Fried Pork Dumplings and the Fried Bun & Condensed Milk (Mantou).

Yang's is a great local option, I visit every few weeks and always get the brisket noodle soup. My other recommendation would be the signature pan fried dumplings which are very generous and delicious!

Atmosphere is usually quiet during weekdays but service is always prompt and helpful.

I went here for dinner, the food was amazing and fresh. I would definitely recommend people to try out the Shanghai dumplings! The stuff was really nice as well. It was a really lovely place to be.

The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly. I ordered the house-made soy milk (nice and sweet), mushroom buns and the really yummy and super cute piggy custard buns. My friend ordered the pork buns.

Even though we came on Saturday night the food came very quickly. There is plenty of seating including one large table for a bigger group.

I am vegetarian so I was limited in what I could order but it was easy to find those options on the menu in English without needing to ask for help. The dessert buns were especially delicious.

Friendly staff, recommending dishes and explained how to microwave the food if it gets cold.very super delicious 煎包（pan fried dumpling). Reasonable price, $9. ish for 6 dumplings. Tried the spicy wonton as well, nice sauce.

Really good dumplings. We had the pan fried pork buns, pork dumplings and braised pork with rice. All was reasonably priced. They also had high chairs for small children. The dumplings and pork bun were really good and are one the most popular dishes there.

Disclaimer: This review comes from someone who grew up in a Chinese-influenced country (Taiwan), so preferences may be slightly influenced by my background.

The short and straightforward review is simple, food is absolutely amazing, services and dining environment however, do have space to improve.

The following will be the detailed context as to why I believe this place is still worth your visit, despite its questionable overall ratings on Google.

Food:
What you order will likely determine the outcome of your dining experience. Here is why. As the owner of the restaurant is not a native English speaker, they were not able to perfectly capture the essence of their restaurant in their English-translated name. Yang’s dumping specializes not in all dumplings, but rather in grilled, fried, and dry steamed dumplings. Meaning if you were to order mostly soupy items from the menu, there is a likelihood you would not be able to find full satisfaction in your meal. If you are the type to enjoy soupy foods, personally, I would recommend ordering one of their beef noodles, which they do an excellent job making (Yes, their beef noodles are an exception). Pair that with one to two plates/boxes of the aforementioned grilled, fried, dry steamed dumplings (you can find most of them on the first two pages of their menu), and you should find yourself walking out the place with a smile on your face. If you are feeling particularly courageous, trying some of their fried sides might surprise you with a new favorite. Their Golden Fried Wonton is one that I quite frequently order.

Service:
Yang’s “inadequate” service is possibly why their ratings have suffered so far. However, this misunderstanding may be a result of their employees struggling with the language barrier between them and some of their customers. Before you click off and leave thinking ordering in English is impossible though, I have always ordered in English at Yang’s, as I am always accompanied by non-Chinese speakers. And I have never experienced any difficulty in ordering at the counter (granted, I have an American accent which the employees may be more used to when they lived in China). As long as you order slightly slower, there should be nothing stopping you from getting some of the most authentic Chinese dumplings in all of Perth. In addition to ordering, some customers may find their customer service a bit lacking. There is no excuse to that, as Yang’s should reasonably accommodate to the Australian standard of dining service. If warm and welcoming services is what you are looking for, Yang’s might not be for you. But if you are looking for an authentic Chinese meal/dining experience, Yang’s is the place to go.

The place truly deserves a bit more recognition in my opinion, and it would be a tragic loss for those who enjoy or are interested in Chinese cuisine. I hope this review helps!

This hot and sour potato noodle restaurant is highly recommended, I personally prefer spicy food. Xiaolongbao and spicy wonton are also delicious.

Had a lovely dinner here the other night l. Friendly staff. Clean premises. Good covid measures in place.

The beef dumplings are so so good!! It quickly became one of our favourite restaurants to have a meal when we’re around the area. Best dumplings we’ve had in Perth. The brisket noodles are good too but sometimes the meat is very fatty so it’s a hit and miss for us.

I have no idea why this place doesn't have a higher rating on Google! The dandan noodles were flavourful. Also had the pork dumplings with peanut sauce. The wrapper had a nice texture and was cooked perfectly. I'll definitely be returning to try more items on the menu.

Food was ok though the portion seems kinda small. Service was friendly. The place was pretty chill if you came in between 1 and 5. This was because it gets busy with customers and Tafe students. Overall a pretty nice place to eat with friends

We went in today with my parents and two kids. Staff were really accommodating to all of us. We ordered various dishes including the piggie custard buns. The custard buns decorated like little pigs are gorgeous. My daughter loved them. The fried wantons were crunchy and fresh. All the food was delicious and fresh. Everything was very clean. I love being able to watch the dumplings be made too. Thanks Yang’s.

Takes me back to living overseas. Amazing dumplings. Fresh soy milk. Divine spring onion pancakes. Go. Eat there. Now. Yummmmmmmmmm
