St. Helen's Cottages

As we where visiting family in Clare for the first time we wanted self contained accommodation and what we experienced was fabulous accommodation in a quiet bush setting, The highlight of the stay was having breakfast on the porch being serenade by the wildlife(birds). St. Helens Cottages is a beautiful place in a beautiful spot. Accommodation is very comfortable and clean. Stayed in the cottage called "The Vines". There is plenty of room for two couples and the wood fire is a very nice feature.

We spent the Australia Day weekend with another couple . Lovely location with a cottage amidst the vines, with modern decor, two good sized ensuite bathrooms and a spa. The beds were great with soft quilts. Some board games or DVDs would have been great

An absolute country delight, St Helens Cottages is an incredible spot. The cottage was extremely clean and tidy and the new owner (this month) was very accomodating and actively sought feedback as they take on the business. The ground are absolutely stunning and private entrance directly onto the Riesling trail is perfect!

Back again as I am each year. Great location and a good setup for multiple families to all be in the one location, walking between cottages to socialise. Love the touches like bottle of wine, pour yourself Tawny, breakfast provisions on arrival, Slippers in the bedside cabinet, and the daily top-up of firewood in the Winter months. Always welcoming and a calm place to be if by yourselves. Highly recommended.

Have been here 2 years in a row for food and wine festival and to exhibit our paintings. Always made to feel so welcome and at home. My mother and I are a bit germ a phobic😂 yet so very clean, Loved all the added finishing touches. The flora, fauna, walks, the quietness, privacy without being isolated and tranquillity makes you feel you feel like you just want to chill. In amongst the trees. Will be there again next month with my mum and so looking forward to our once a year mother and daughter get-a-way💖

Great location and found out it was the opening week end for the new owner. Beautifully equipped newly upgraded cottage. Right on the Riesling trail and just minutes from Clare town. We will be back !

Absolutely wonderful cottage. Stayed in the Pavillion. Wonderful fresh breakfast supllied, clean and well equiped. Highly recommend. Fantastic location

Owner/operator hung up on us twice on purpose, because we booked through their online agent and not directly (bizarre). Admitted to hanging up and never apologised and then hung up again. The accomodation is very dated, mattress lumpy, questionable bedding, mouldy shower, pet spider, dusty, tiny TV etc etc.

Carol Topperwien is an extremely rude person.

I had short-listed 3 properties and enquired with her as to her best rate for a 3 night stay and she promptly responded with accusing me of being price driven and then went on to offer a discount. I would NEVER stay at a place with such a rude host. No wonder all their properties were vacant for the dates I requested.

UPDATE: This rude person also tells lies......My query was "what's your best rate for the 3 nights"........If you don't like this question then be polite and decline......Your opening response was........"It is unfortunate that you are driven by price alone."

What she fails to understand, I did compare her property to the others being considered and, in my opinion, it did not justify the premium rate. How rude when responding to a potential customer query.
