Butts Reserve

Overall it is a great spot, toilets (although a bit old), water, dogs allowed and clean. Went there during Melb Cup and it was absolutely packed, but everyone was well behaved.
This place attracts a lot of people into mountain biking, so be aware there will be a quite a bit of that.

Big shady trees table and chairs fire pits and flushing toilets. Nice place for camping or a stop over. Very quiet and a few birds and butterflys and there is kangaroos

A good spot with plenty of room flushing toilets and well kept by parks vic. A few permanent living there at the time. Maldon very close by.

Campers have there generators going late at night and have fired in total fire ban days as well

Very quiet place, campfire, toilet available, close to town.

Needed a place to stay for the night. I have a camper I tow and use for gold protecting trips. A pleasant night sleep under the stars. Although a windy night it was sheltered here. There are some long term free campers here but Butts reserve is pretty large and I imagine that you will always find a quiet spot here. Be careful of the smooth bark gum trees don't camp underneath ones with long overhanging branches. They can drop limbs making for a very short future. Already be aware camping under large trees. Clean well maintained toilets. Take your own toilet paper just in case. A little bit of gold was my reward.

Peaceful with kangaroos. A range of spots if you look round. Toilets are perfectly adequate. Can walk or drive to lookout and to town. Maldon is such a gem of a place. Not a scrap of rubbish either. Good one!

Equipped with everything you need if camping and/or taking your van. Very quiet and picturesque.

Back again, this time it doesn’t seem like long term people have taken up resident.
Lots of signs everywhere saying no camping, just making it more confusing.

I come here often for weekend's away either by myself or with family and friends.

It's a nice little free camping spot with a lookout just up the hill to see a sun set or Sun rise with your spouse or partner.
