Great campground good clean long drops. Tables available. Free of cost we brought our 22 ft caravan into here. Can gold pan on the creek. Beautiful lakes and walks. Only 15mins out of Crestwick where there is an IGA and free showers at the pump track(bmx). And only 25 mins out of Ballarat. The perfect free camp ground.

Great place if you wanted to relax, I went for gold and I’m only new to it.
No luck this time but I’ll be back.

Nice quiet spot with clean toilets (they even had paper!!). Very well cared for road, easily accessible in any vehicle. Only space for about 3 campers at Slaty Creek 1. Can also pan for gold in the creek if you’re feeling lucky 🤩

A group of us went gold panning in the creek. The bush surroundings were peaceful and people enjoy going bush walking here too. There is also a shelter in which to enjoy a picnic as well.

A great camp ground right in the bush. Fire pits, picnic tables and a drop toilet are available. The creek running through the site is lovely. Dogs allowed on leash.

Great spot to camp. Fire pits available, drop toilets, no water tank and i would also recommend bringing your own wood

Free camping with basic toilets can be busy, but great quiet place for camping

What a delightful surprise in the middle of the bush. I have a feeling this may be a local secret

A great place for a picnic, or camping. Set in natural bush with the creek near by.

Beautiful surroundings, the creek was flowing hard and there was plenty of fresh greenery around. Very clean area even considering there are no public bins around. It's nice not to see litter everywhere around a campsite. Very accessible as there are routes in/out without water crossings or 4wd track. Could probably get there in a Mini.

Longdrop dunnies over by the carpark make camping with a family just a little bit easier. Enough fireplaces and flat areas to go around. If camping in dodgy weather, the nearby gazebo can offer some shelter for cooking.

Great picnic area well worth a visit. There aren't any benches or tables though, so make sure you bring a folding table or something if you're having a BBQ.

Kids love it here. There's waking paths, toilets, camp fires and a little shallow creek.

Slatey Creek campground is an Oasis for detectorists and bushwalkers a alike.
The toilets are clean and the campgrounds are level. With all weather roads were from the northern Access road from Creswick.
Take your gold pan and water as there is no water on site but there is water in the creek when it rains this water is not pottable so take your water filter if you choose to use the creek water.

This is a great campground I'm so grateful that some of the forest has been preserved as much much more has been cleared

Perfect space and setting among the trees. Went camping for the weekend and loved waking up to all the birds. Thanks for keeping the campsite in great condition

Excellent weekend down by Slaty Creek, beautiful weather, running water and fairly quiet sitting around the campfire, nice food and a couple of drinks.
