Best pottery studio. I’ve been at RTC for a few years starting off with going to an intro class where you learn the basic of pottery and get to throw a few pieces for two hours. From there it piqued my interest and I signed up to the term class where you get to see the whole process of making a piece from wedging to throwing to trimming and glazing. So glad RTC expanded to have an open studio space so I can come in and focus on the techniques I learnt during term class. I’m currently in the membership option and being able to come in and out of the studio whenever I please has given me the flexibility, space and time to improve my skills. And Richard is always around the corner to help out whenever I need.

I completed a term of lessons studying under Rick’s tutelage and I very much appreciated his experience, patience, passion and charisma. He shows his expertise in lessons by breaking down concepts in digestible and pragmatic ways so that you can improve your work on your own. All of the lesson options are great value.

The space is well equipped with wheels and potter’s tools and has everything you need to bring your ideas to life. I can attest that after a long stressful day, nothing calms the soul like a few hours sitting behind a pottery wheel.

I was a complete beginner before the lessons and even I was able to come away with some beautiful pieces after only a term!

Richard is very patient with us for the intro class. Each of us made 3 cups/plates within 2 hours. Highly recommended!!

I did the introductory class with Richard and it was amazing. I have never done any pottery before but Richard's class was easy to follow and he helps you as much or as little as you like.

You can expect high quality wheels and working materials; and an added bonus is the small class sizes which makes RTC way better than other studios.

After the class I was able to return a few weeks later to collect my finished pieces which I use everyday as espresso cups. Definitely going back and highly recommend.

What a wonderful and encouraging teacher! I'm loving my beginners wheel throwing class. Richard's patient and insightful instructions are easy to understand: just when you think you've wrecked your masterpiece beyond repair, he has the knowledge and experience to show you how to recover and produce really satisfying pieces. Best class I've done in years.

Richard used to be an automotive clay sculptor and had sculpted BMWs, VWs and Holdens for nearly 10 years prior to starting his pottery business. He knows a thing or two about clay :)
