Ashy's Afghan Restaurant

We did order with our eyes at Ashy’s and were not disappointed at all! The portion sizes are quite large so be warned, go there on an empty stomach.
The service was fantastic, the young lady that served us knew the menu well and made good recommendations when asked.
There was sufficient parking for our guests at around 06:00pm on the main street outside, but by 07:30pm ish, it was crowded so plan accordingly.
The naan bread was soft and fluffy, the dal was tasty. My favourite was the dumplings though.
It was flavoured just right and not overly spicy at all.
I will definitely bring my guests to Ashy’s Afghan Restaurant again very soon.

Most succulent kebabs I've ever had. Highly recommend!!! Super tasty 😊
We also got the mantu, next time I will ask for more mint sauce as that's my personal preference.
Staff were friendly and provided very quick service.

Nothing but amazing things to say about Ashy’s! The staff are so friendly and excellent with recommendations. The food is out of this world.

Sambosa’s had a flaky pastry paired with a delicious sauce.
The eggplant dish was ordered by every table at the restaurant and it’s clear why, so flavourful!
The chicken tikka was so tender and delicious.

This was our first time having Afghan food and we were both blown away by the quality, flavour, and service we received. We got hummus, Dumplings and the mixed meal to try a little of everything. I would recommend this to everyone and anyone looking for something new.

Took my family out for dinner this evening. I was taken away by Sias and Alex who greeted and attended us throughout the night, what great service! Really made us feel at home. The atmosphere is just relaxing and the food is delicious. The potion size is generous, we ordered the chicken beryani and the lamb shanks. Want to return ASAP to try the mix kebab looks really great! Thank you for the wonderful night!

Great food bringing a taste that isn’t seen in the area. On the pricier side but the portions are large so one dish can easily feed 2. Definitely will visit again!

Stumbled upon this restaurant recently and we are really pleased we did! Welcoming service, flavoursome food and well priced (large portions). Decor a bit tired, but would recommend.

A delightful place to have Afghan and Middle Eastern food.

The ambience is pretty good, has parking available in front of the store and there is a parking lot available that is close by.

The food was incredible. Very well cooked and was brilliantly spiced. The chicken and lamb kebabs were cooked so well that they were melting in the mouth.

We had Mantu, the dumpling were nicely cooked and the daal has a nice mild spiced taste to it. From the entrees we also tried the AFC (Afghan fried chicken) and it was delicious. This dish is amazing. If you visit this place please try it.

For the main course, we had the chicken biryani pallow which was amazing. The chicken was well cooked and the rice was hot and spicy. We also had the mixer kebab skewers platter and that was the highlight of our lunch. I have never had such perfectly cooked kebabs in Melbourne before.

This place is surely a must visit for people who like middle eastern and Afghan food.

Agree with other reviewers, a hidden gem! We recently had dinner here on a Friday night, warm and friendly staff, and the kebab meals were simply delicious. Love the use of spices and generous serving. Will be back! I would love to see more decor celebrating the wonderful Afghan culture.

We had a great night, the staff catered to our every need, very polite, very knowledgable about alergies, really worked hard to make our night enjoyable. The food was fantastic, highly reccomend the mixed kebabs, and the coconut lime desert.

I have done both takeaway and dine-in. This is a local favorite. Place is tidy and clean. Food is delicious and consistent. Love the kebabs and chicken Biryani. The most friendly people. Easy parking too. Highly recommend.

We’ve been dining in at and getting takeaway from Ashys for over 6 years and it has always been outstanding. The mantu is delicious as is the chicken chickpea korma. Service is always friendly and prompt. A fabulous reliable local eatery

First time here, it was not busy (probably bcoz we were early). Very friendly staff, made us feel very welcome. And the food was amazing!!!! It was so nice 6 of us had to order another 2 main after we already had 5 dishes. Definitely be back.

Tried Afghani food for the first time here and it was fantastic!! So flavoursome and delicious! The service was great too! Will come back again for sure to try the other dishes

We loved the food here! We visited Melbourne from Sydney for a mini getaway and was not particularly impressed by the food in the cbd. But we finally found Ashy’s on the last night of our trip and was very impressed! Serving size was generous. Their lamb shank was so soft, their chicken kebab was very juicy, and the cauliflower korma had a great sweet tangy flavour! We ordered these three dishes amongst the two of us and demolished it. Highly recommend this place, would visit this place all the time if I was a local.
