Mackellar Motel Gunnedah

Another great stay and huge thanks to the hosts for looking after us. Great location with clean rooms in centre of town and definitely recommend.

A very good motel in Gunnedah, the best thing is, they offere a free breakfast(continental) for all the guests. The staff is also very helpful.

Highly recommended and will definitely stay again here.

Had a lovely stay here as a stop over on our way to Sydney from Queensland. Room was well appointed and clean. Brigitte and Steve were beyond lovely. Great proximity to nearby restaurants.
Was able to stay here with my puppy as well which was a fantastic bonus. Will definitely be back again:)

Staff here are fantastic and the rooms are clean, comfy and quiet. Nothing was too much trouble.
Rooms are well appointed and a good size. One of the most comfortable beds I've come across in a motel and perfect after a long day on the road.
The motel is dog friendly, with several rooms available if you're travelling. A continental breakfast was also thrown in with the price. We would definitely stay here again!

I had a 3 night stay at the Mackellar Motel & was very impressed with everything at the hotel. Bridget was very cheerful & helpful, the rooms large & beds comfy. Great Wi-Fi, minibar & the hot breakfast huge. Location fantastic as only a minutes’ walk to pubs / clubs / restaurants. Will definitely stay again when travelling to Gunnedah.

I am mind blown at how amazing these rooms were! We needed pet friendly rooms and I expected them to be below average but we walked in and they were clean tidy and comfortable! The staff were soooo accommodating with my family and my French bulldog Nugget, I instantly was made to feel like he was just as welcome as us! Everything was easy with this stay and we will be back!

Awesome place to stay, friendly staff, spacious and clean rooms. They even have ev charging in the car park.

Bridget & Steve very welcoming and friendly, motel handy to Clubs, plenty of parking near room. Bed and pillows comfortable. Good sized bathroom. Great to have supplies in the refrigerator. nightly rate included a continental breakfast, value for money. SMS & emails reminders were appreciated. Thank you Bridget for being so welcoming on our arrival. Would not hesitate to recommend this motel to anyone and everyone.

Above my expectations! Bridget at front desk welcomed me on Saturday afternoon and farewelled us on Sunday morning. Room was very clean , comfortable bed & shower was fantastic, great water pressure.
Will definitely return next time we need to stay overnight.

We only stayed for one night with our foxie. The room was excellent and clean and spacious. No previous doggy smells. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely stay here again if ever we find ourselves in Gunnedah.
Bed was comfortable and pillows fluffy. We left a doggy toy behind and they rang to inform us. Great service.
BTW we took our boy to the Railway Hotel for dinner in the beer garden. Great food and dog 🐕 friendly hotel. Recommended.

Booked a night at this motel due to them being dog friendly. When booking I entered all the information they required for my dog.
We were met with friendly smiles by the couple at reception who checked us in.
They were informative and made us feel very welcome with our dog George.
The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable.
They include a continental breakfast which had a variety of cereals, bread and condiments to choose from.
It was great to sit in the court yard with our dog and enjoy breakfast.
The same couple who check us in were there managing the breakfast and again greeted us with smiles and gave our dog attention. I believe they are the managers.
If you are looking for a motel that is dog friendly, I highly recommend the McKellar.

It's very rare to walk into a motel room, and find it to be better than you expected.
Our Room #1 was super spacious, the beds had luxurious coverings, the bathroom was huge, the shower head was wonderful, and the entire room was absolutely spotless.
This motel is fantastic, and you won't be disappointed!

Brigitte was absolutely wonderful, made us feel right at home. The Staff here are Incredibly polite and the rooms are well decorated and exceptionally clean. Credits to the whole team at the Mackellar Motel!

I've stayed in every motel in Gunnedah over the years, and the Mackellar is by far the best. Very comfortable rooms and beds, perfect location and the new managers Steve and Bridget couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend this place.

Your motel was a delight in every respect, including: direct booking process; friendly check in; the free guest laundry; close proximity to dinner options; the very comfortable beds; quiet rooms; free continental breakfast in a sunny courtyard. Great location, Reception was effortless. The carpet was actually fluffy. Motel carpet is always clean but this place had the softest carpet I've had in a room. The bedding was also very soft and fluffy. Disappointed that the restaurant wasn't open but welcome to 2020. That's no one's fault. Greg loved the bathrobes. The view of the mountains were nice. Very comfortable, spacious room. The spa was wonderful after 4 hours of driving. Everything was fully functioning. We're bringing the cat next time. The staff were cheerful. The other guests were friendly.

I just recently stayed at the Mackellar and would definitely stay there again and recommend anyone to stay there. Great size rooms, large bathrooms, clean, warm, excellent position in the heart of the CBD, lovely service and fabulous omelette breakfast - fabulous all round actually.

Fantastic, friendly service, rooms and bed are very comfortable. Close to town centre, breakfast was to die for. We will definitely be staying again.
