A great morning fossicking for thunder eggs. The owner was very knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful. It's good value for money, great fun and price included having the thunder eggs cut. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic day fossicking for just $30 per adult. The road from the highway to the tourist park was a bit rough, but it was definitely worth it. We definitely enjoyed the impressive display of rocks. A must visit if you are in rockhampton

What a great place to dig in the dirt. Beautiful location with plenty of space. Basic amenities but who cares when it's do cheap to camp and you can look for pretty rocks anywhere you walk. At $30 the fossicking experience is definitely worth doing. I found some nice thunder eggs snd they cut about 6 for me. Very happy what I found.

Our family stayed here for one night and had a fantastic time. Site was powered, with a beautiful outlook and gorgeous sunset views and staying there meant we had time out of the heat of the day to go fossicking.

Don was extremely kind and patient with our son and took the time to explain what to look for and carefully go over what he'd found to see if there was anything worth keeping.

We went home with a few Thunder eggs to remember our time there and a beautiful piece of rainforest jasper to display in our home from the lovely shop. Next time we would stay a night or two longer to really soak up the atmosphere.

Unfortunately I had limited time out here. What I saw was a beautiful array of thunder eggs, petrified woods and a great assortment of stones. Am hoping to get back I ut here and do some fossicing.

Had a lovely 2 night stay here with camper trailer. Powered site, very close to water tap and washing machine, clean toilets, clean showers, had a great time fossicking for thunder eggs (which they cut in the shop right next to the site :) ) Owners are absolutely lovely and on top of everything. Would 100% recommend, especially for rock enthusiasts👍

A really nice place to stay. The showers are are basic but Hot. Toilets are roomy and clean. Not a lot of available spaces so booking is a good idea. None of the above is why you stay here. You've come for the Thunder Eggs. Fossickin is very easy. They literally bring up the raw dirt for you to sift through. They provide all the tools and are more than willing to offer all the advice you need. You will get a few free cuts of your stones and will have to pay for any more you want cut. We will be back next year

Very friendly staff at this tourist destination. This location includes ample parking, seating for either own or purchased food and drink, and relaxing after a hard day of thunder egg hunting. Would recommend getting in early to beat the line for cutting the eggs. Some of the gems in the shop are a bit over priced, but there is some nice pieces to choose from outside.

Had a lot of fun, could easily have spent the whole day here. The owner was really informative and showed us how to search for thunder eggs. I would recommend going on a dry day as it makes it a lot easier to find thunder eggs in the dirt, but we went on a really rainy day and still found some amazing gemstones with beautiful colours! The owners were really happy to help and cut open the eggs, well worth the experience.

This experience was amazing. The gentleman who met us was very knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately it was too hot to be out in the fossik heap for more than an hour. But we still found quite a few smaller eggs which he cut for us. He also had a drum of larger ones my children could choose from & cut those for us. It was a great value for money experience & I recommend anyone to go & have a fossik & check out the shop.

The site is like a an old campground, very basic but has clean toilets.
This place is being run by a very knowledgeable and nice man, he takes time in answering all your questions and very helpful. The experience is unique, especially for the young ones. They will cut all the rocks you pick and they think is a thunde rock or you would like it to be cut.
The shop has a huge variety of reasonably priced stones from Australia and other parts of the world.

This is a great place to visit. 3 nights camping and fossicking for Thunder eggs and other gems.
The owners will go out of their way to make sure your stay is great.
Showers were hot, and the toilets clean. Camping site was great and we were able to have an open fire in the firepit.

This doesn't look like your average 'tourist attraction'. It is very low key. But what it lacks in flash is made up for in the literally hands on access you are given to the rocks and the gems on hand. If you choose to fossick for your own thunder rocks (I did) you are shown what to look for and then handed a pick and a pail of water to find your own. It didn't take long. I brought in a handful of stones and watched as they were cut open in the workshop. I loved it! Hands on discovery adventure with no hype or false promises.
If you don't want to fossick, there are open displays of all sorts of gems and rock samples, both polished and unpolished sitting on the shelves in the shed and outside in the rock garden.
This is a great place to bring curious kids of all ages.
I camped there overnight. Again, nothing flash in the facilities, but they were all clean and worked well. I'd do this again in a heartbeat.

Great place to visit if your into gemstones and fossicking. Reasonable powered site(25) rates but also unpowered is available for cheaper(20). Showers/toilets/laundry all on site and fossicking area if you have closed in shoes at a small cost where you can find Rhyalite and thunder eggs.

My young kids are currently into gem and rocks. They were very excited to see all the 'gems' in the stall. The owner tried to explain they weren't really gems but to no avail.
The kids had lots of fun although it was very hot. They had their own picks and bags and they were shown what to look for.
They cut a few of their thundereggs and the kids were very excited with their stash. They have lots of 'gems in their thundereggs.
Thank you it was a great afternoon.

A knowledgeable and friendly family run this tourist park. An afternoon well spent fossicking and exploring all the rocks and gemstones at the tourist park. Worth the drive and a prefect place for a picnic lunch or to camp overnight.
