Fernbrook School

We have been so happy since moving our daughter to Fernbrook (high school) at the end of 2022. She completed year 7 at Upwey High school, but really struggled both socially and academically. (ADHD?) At Fernbrook she feels safe to be herself. The teachers are amazing, and really "get her". The small size classes means all the kids get to know and accept each other, they can find their place. Lots of kids here are sensitive, and appreciate the green space, personal led projects (following their interests) as well as the general subjects. I find the principal and all the staff to be very dedicated and professional. We are grateful to have found such a lovely school.

My daughter started at Fernbrook because we were looking for a more wellbeing and truly child focused school. We wanted a place where she could be herself, free from peer pressure and bullying, but also where she could follow her interests and passions and learn in a way that was interesting to her. We have found all this at Fernbrook. Wellbeing is an actual priority at this school, it is woven into everything they do. The teachers are truly wonderful, what the kids do day to day is interesting and exciting for them, I have found each child genuinely has their own unique needs met. The class sizes are small which was also really important to us. They get lots of time outdoors and in nature and also do a lot of cooking and creative play. This school is a wonderful alternative to more traditional education.

Life changing- moving our daughter to Fernbrook School is the best decision we have made. She loves the project learning and has made amazing friends with like minded kids
