Don’t walk past this old pub. There is so much history inside it is a must see when walking around Evandale. Stop for a coffee, cold drink, lunch or dinner but do stop.

Yo this place was awesome. Arrived here on a busy Saturday afternoon with approx 45 mins to sit down and eat before leaving for the airport and they kindly accommodated us, took our orders with a smile and rushed them through when we asked on the general wait time. We received a perfect medium rare porterhouse with crispy chips and fresh salad with our server apologising for ‘the wait’ (haha oh bless- it was literally only 10 minutes) what outstanding service at a classic feeling unpretentious, yet clean and classy pub. Couldn’t recommend more; can’t wait to return honestly. Ultimate respect

Great dining location- amazing old world charm inside and great outdoor country style dining areas too!

The food is very good, the service is welcoming and attentive without being overbearing.

The live music is also a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Beautiful food, great service. Very English style beer garden. It was just amazing. I can honestly say this has been the best pub I've visited in Australia so far. If your a pom in Tasmania, go and check out the ploughman's lunches.

Very pleasent atmosphere, very well presented and beautifully maintained. The breakfast was very good. Tea drop brand tea not being my cup of tea, but that didn't detract from the experience. If you're in the area, I strongly recommend a visit

June 2021. The Clarendon Arms was suggested to us by the owners of the Red Feather Inn, in Hadspen. I would typically be hesitant to shy away from a hotel owned restaurant, however given how beautiful the meals have been at Red Feather Inn, we had no hesitation in visiting the Clarendon Arms. We were pleasantly surprised. Meals were absolutely delicious, staff super attentive and friendly and decor thoroughly well thought out. There's a wonderful gallery upstairs with artworks you can purchase. If you're in the area, ensure that The Clarendon Arms is on your itinerary.

From the moment we stepped into the Clarendon Arms we felt right at home. This Old English style pub oozes charm and character just like the little village in Evandale where it's located. We arrived just before lunch on a Saturday and were seated at a table, sans booking, I think we were lucky as the venue was packed for lunch shortly after our arrival, were given pride of place in front of the open fireplace. Heaven!! We ordered a cider and just soaked in the atmosphere for half an hour, the art and wall hangings took you to a dreamy far away land. We took a peek at the many dining areas, and they all had a unique and distinct character, it was really interesting. I noticed the mulled wine on the bar and couldn’t resist, talk about tasty. We ordered a platter to share for two as we had already had a snack or two before arriving and were very happy with the freshness and the variety of the meats and cheeses provided. The staff were only too willing to help as I tucked into a few more mulled wines and had a fantastic afternoon. We visited many pubs and wineries while in Tasmania however the Clarendon Arms takes the cake, in fact we had such a great time we went back twice from our accommodation an hour away. It’s funny how you connect with some places and we certainly did here. Thanks for making our Tasmania visit more memorable than ever and we will be back next time we visit tassie. We give the Clarendon Arms 5 out 5.

172 years old and the Clarendon Arms is going as strong as ever. Leafy, lush, big beer garden to enjoy the local brews, and amazing historic artwork in the pub. Shame we didn't have time to sample the YUMMMM looking menu.

Couldn’t recommend more! This pub is a great spot for food and a drink with friends / family. The town is also just great to visit. If you’re on the fence if you should visit from Launceston or not - I’d say do it - if not only just to visit this pub!

A great pub, very popular with locals, families and travellers alike. Local beer, wine and menu, cosy refurbished space. The vegetarian options aren't plentiful but the mixed cheese and vegetable boards are great value. My parmi and fries was delicious. Great beer garden, especially for kids. Recommended.

Fantastic pub! The closest thing to a genuine English countryside pub that I've found outside England. Great cosy feel inside and a sunny garden out the back. Can't ask for more!

A swish, up market pub offering exquisitely prepared meals by an open fire. The wait staff were simply delightful! I highly recommend the Lavender Pannacotta dessert, delish!

This unique heritage public house, dating frim 1847, has been injected with a renewed lease of life. Bringing it into the 21st century, the building now boasts one of the most splendid alfresco gardens in northern Tasmania. Live music, from memorable jazz to contemporary soloists, ada pleasurable Sunday afternoon of relaxation over a wine or beer or whatever your taste with tasty lunch. Highly recommended.
