Highly recommend, ticks every box. Atmosphere is great, very groovy place with something to look at in every direction. Customer service was excellent with all the staff being friendly and engaging. Food and coffee were delicious, cannot fault it, and the price point is extremely reasonable given the quality.

What a great place for breakfast. Very colourful and the service was not at all like the poster on the wall.

Awesome salmon toastie (to-die -for warm n fresh toasted bread with smoked salmon laden with onions n cream sauce) n cappuccino. All the other food looks delicious 😋😋. Superb service 👍 in a 70s ambience. Simply love the brekkie experience!

Always great service, the food is always delicious and they have a great range of options suitable for everyone. I'm a sucker for the deluxe breakfast roll and chocolate milkshake but they do the milkshakes old school with malt so they're impossible to resist! Well priced, great atmosphere and comfortable seating. I'd suggest booking ahead if you want to dine in because it's often busy!

Excellent food at a fantastic price. Coffee and baked goods are lovely. Service was friendly and funny. Atmosphere is cosy and quirky. Highly recommend for a breakie stop.

This cafe was amazing! The coffees were absolutely superb, and the Turkish pita sandwiches were delicious. But most importantly, the staff who served us with a smile made the experience even more special. I had an excellent cafe experience.!!!!!

Have been calling in since building a boat at Franklin 7 years ago and every time we have visited Tasmania since. The atmosphere is very eclectic without being forced with great food and service.

We were in Tasmania 2 weeks and came here 3 times. Awesome atmosphere, very eclectic, quirky and fun, the owner was a delight to chat to; what a lovely human. Obcious that the staff were happy and cared about too! Oh and the food... just delicious, had the vegan burger with the lot, aa vegan pie, and the vegan brekky. The seven seas chai was the best chai I've ever had.
Owner sourced the Turkish bread locally, and convinced the maker to provide it vegan. Lots of gluten free options. Definitely recommend. Keep doing what your doing ;)

Ds is always wonderfully busy just like any great cafe should be. The food is amazing, the service is fast and the people who work there are classic southern TasManiacs.

Walking by this cafe might be a mistake you regret. Ds Cafe has something for almost everyone dietary needs, and they will do their best to ensure you have something to eat.

They do toasted foccacias so delicious and their curried egg sandwich is one of my go to foods when I drive to Hobart early in the morning. Great coffee. I love their gluten free lasagne they have a good selection of gluten free dishes and cakes, vegan, vegetarian meals and sweet treats.cakes too. They will do all they can within reason to ensure you have something to eat that meets your dietary needs.
Hamburgers are so filling and chips crispy and freshly cooked to order. Curries made on premises and full of spices herbs yum.
Nachos is good, too. They make unique salads (as in not seen all over the place) to have as a meal or side, take home meals are also available. You can have a full meal and not be feeling hungry in an hour as I have at too many cafes.
Their scones are great value and make for a perfect devonshire tea
If you want an alcohol beverage with your meal you can purchase from their l selection.

Great staff who at times have to deal with not so great humans. (as most hospitality businesses do).
It is a beloved Locals place, and the owners are wonderful community supporters. Regulars and staff interactions are real and perhaps some may not find them professional or good but its our local cafe and place we love because the owners have made it so.

The owners love collecting and they enjoy displaying their collections at the cafe.
Dog friendly and very popular with local dog groups and owners. Sitting in the laneway that has plants and covered tables along with out door heaters for cooler days. Sunny and you can enter the cafe up some stairs on the laneway side.
