A delicious meal in a lovely restaurant, the staff were super nice.
We had a baked Camembert cheese and seafood pizza to share. Both were superb even if the Camembert was a little naughty hehehe

We were passing though Penguin in August on our way to Devonport and came across this gem right on water. We stopped for lunch and ordered pizza and pink ling tempura. The meals were great, very tasty, with lots of fresh ingredients. Service was great, friendly and relaxed. Being a cold windy day, we were seated in the large sunny room facing the ocean. Perfect spot for a casual lunch on our travels.

Mentally resigned to a great pub meal and good seaside takeaway, we were delighted to find this charming restaurant in the Main Street of Penguin. The Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient and we dined here twice over a week. Both nights the restaurant was crowded so reservations are suggested. The tapas were generous servings and flavourful. The Scottsdale pork belly was perfectly crisp in an excellent jus and my husbands Battered pink Ling was perfectly accompanied by sweet potato fries. Leave room for the Tasmanian cheese board , churros and sticky date pudding. The wine menu has a great selection of Tasmanian sparkling, still and even port. Great latte finished off a lovely evening. Huge fans and delighted to find this gem. The excellent jazz music and fun of watching the train was a bonus. Bravo !

Can honestly say I love this restaurant. We travelled to Tasmania from the Gold Coast. Stumbled across this restaurant in Penguin. The young staff in this restaurant could easily rival a 5 start restaurant. The cocktails are made on point and well the food is just amazing. I would actually say this restaurant could rival some of the 5 star restaurants we have eaten at. I felt like I literally had to be rolled out of there as the food was that delicious. This restaurant was the reason we stayed in Penguin a 2nd night. One tip...make a booking early as they do get booked out. Definitely worth the stop. Oh and the train passes straight through there. It is not massively noisy, nor does it stink. Very interesting though. Great for kids to see as you will see by our photos.

The service and food were really really good. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Get on the tapas.

Visited on a Wednesday evening. While not super busy, quite a few tables filled up around 7:30 - more than expected for a weeknight in a small coastal town. Shared a range of tapas and a Paella from the 'Tapas' and 'Raciones' menu. The tapas size were excellent value for money, as was the Paella (big enough to feed two!). Lovely fresh seafood used, cooked beautifully. Presentation was what you would want/expect from a tapas restaurant; tastefully hearty. While I didn't try the pizza menu, I saw a number come out with everyone looking impressed. Great wine selection with beautifully made cocktails. I rate the service and atmosphere highly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to tourists passing through and locals alike.
