Amazing pizza and pasta, great vibe and awesome service. Love this place - it’s like stepping back into Nonna’s kitchen where the food tastes like home and wine’s served in unpretentious vessels. Check it out if you’re in the Byron area. If there’s one thing you try it’s got to be the anchovies on focaccia starter!

Incredible incredible incredible pizza.

We dropped in with no booking and were accommodated even though we could only have our table for 50 minutes. In that time we still had negronis, garlic pizza, pastas, pizzas. The staff were so friendly and lovely to our kids too. The welcome, vibe and experience = hospitality at its finest.

The pizzas and pastas are ELITE. The crust and toppings are the perfect mix of a little smokey, a little chewy and then a LOT of flavour. The pastas are equally beautiful, hearty and elevated.

Dinner here tonight to celebrate some unexpected good news. We turned up with no booking, sat in the courtyard. Had the tomato and fior di latte, garlic flatbread, brocolli, potato pizza and tiramisù, everything was delicious. Staff were friendly and service was quick, will definitely be back.

Unreal Hawaiian pizza and the tiramisu was also amazing. We were so pleasantly surprised by Ciao Mate. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu! Thank you for a wonderful night.

The best pizza in the Northern Rivers! Amazing pizza flavour combinations, the mushrooms with fried enoki being my personal favourite. Although their menu is constantly changing and evolving the food is consistently good. The dough is 🤌

It was our second time dining at Ciao Mate! And we would definitely come back again. The atmosphere, service and food is exactly how it should be at a place like this. Small menu with great options for everyone. Pizzas are absolutely excellent on both occasions we had pasta a la vodka - simple and full of flavour. Big thumbs up for accommodating for vegan options that are delicious, even for non-vegans!

Absolutely Grandiose! Staff were incredible, everyone went above and beyond, my glass was filled before it was empty, the food was absolutely fantastic didn’t even require as much as a crack of pepper, it was perfect.

Delicious food! The staff were lovely and welcoming and the atmosphere was busy but cosy! I would recommend booking ahead because it is very popular!

Food was amazing locally sourced, perfect flavours. Garlic prawn pizza, tomato salad and Tiramisu were favourites. Service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was great, recommend sitting in the courtyard.

Had a really great experience here. Romantic setting and lovely decor. Food was beautiful. Had the Moreton Bay Bug pasta, Greens Pizza and some starters. The bread was squishy and delicious. Service attentive.

Came here for my birthday tonight and everything was just so perfect. The staff really go above and beyond to make sure you have a nice experience. Our meals were authentic, delicious and had a real depth of flavour that can only come from quality ingredients and quality chefs. Decent drinks list too. Music was relaxing and good volume and the ambience was spot on. We actually moved from the outdoor courtyard which was a little noisy but staff were able to accomodate. We can’t wait to come back here!

Great food! Service was just ok.

The pasta was excellent, I need to learn how to make a sauce like that. The portion was good and saucy that you could scoop the sauce into them.

The pizza was quite tasty but was more charred than I typically prefer.

Plenty of parking around in Bangalow.

Will be back when I visit Byron again.

Small and cosy little restaurant , we went there for our wedding anniversary. Service was good, we ordered a steak and pasta dish, both were high quality. We had a desert,all the food was delicious.

Delightful little village Italian - the pizza oven looked amazing and the staff were super friendly - only reason they didn’t get 5 stars was he briefly forgot my ale…….

The pastas were great and my wife even got a delicious gluten free version of the amatriciana

Ciao, Mate is a bloody beauty in Bangalow but most things attached with Matt Stone is gold and the food is sublime. Cocktails on point, service super friendly and great vibes. Will be back here for sure!
