Pleasantly surprised with a fantastic meal and fast, polite service. If you reminisce the sweet Aussie Chinese cuisine of the 70/80s this is your place! Succulent crisy honey prawns (SO good we ordered a 2nd round), tender fall off the bone duck, sweet singaporean noodles & crispy fresh spring rolls. The fortune cookies with the bill was the cherry in the cake. Thrilled to hv discovered such an awesome local option.

Having not eaten at Tsang's for many years, despite being a local, I thought I'd go back.
The restaurant itself is small and somewhat cluttered but is clean and simple. It is ideally located in the center of town, just adjacent to the primary school. There is ample street parking and is close to the pub, should you want a night-cap.
The restaurant itself isn't licensed, so make sure you grab a bottle of something on your way, or, worst case, pop up to the pup in the next block and grab a takeaway or two.
We were served promptly and given ice cold water immediately. Glasses were provided for our wine and we made a start perusing the extensive menu.
It contains all the usual favourites and some extras, such as a Thai dish or two. The only trouble you'll have, is choosing!

It took us a long time to decide, so we were given the option to order starters first while we continued to debate what to have. I didn't want to go overboard as most dishes were between $17-$23, which I feel is quite expensive, but upon getting our dishes, I found out why. They are pretty generous servings!

After receiving our starters, which were home-made steamed pork dim sims, we ordered our mains. Might I say, the starter arrived so quickly that we barely had time to make final decisions! Hats off to the chef and waitress!

Our mains were the lemon chicken, garlic lamb (in the sizzling section of the menu) and a large steamed rice. Thank goodness we shared a starter any only ordered one dish each, as the portions were quite large! We did well to finish them. (back to my previous point about the pricing of the dishes. I feel they were EXCELLENT value!) The garlic lamb was tender and sizzling hot. The vegetables were lightly cooked (to perfection, in my opinion). The flavour was delicate yet quite robust and reminded me of food you'd pick up from a market stall in Asia.
The deep fried chicken was tender and crispy, despite being served with a homemade lemon sauce. I was quite impressed by how fresh the sauce tasted and the fact you can taste actual real lemon cutting through the sweet syrup. Testament to a from-scratch sauce! Beware, though, there were 2 lemon seeds in the sauce, which were easily spotted. I like seeing this as it reassures me that the sauce isn't just from a bottle, so long as you don't eat one!

Our table was swiftly cleared away after the meal and we were left to finish our drinks. We weren't hassled by the waitress but I felt we were amply tended to. I don't like it when a waiter/waitress hovers over you like a hawk, so thanks for not doing that!

We were offered a dessert menu, which we declined as we were too full and then asked to let the waitress know as and when we would like the bill.

Overall, a fantastic dining experience. If you're not deterred by a quirky little restaurant that is a little cluttered, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the fantastic quality of the food and service! $54 for a shared starter, 2 mains and a large rice. Bargain!

Well done Mr. Tsang!

Got takeaway stir fry vegetables with tofu, and vegetarian spring roles. The food tastes great and there was a large menu to chose from. Will be going back in the future.

OK Chinese, a bit slow, but reasonable quality and good portion size.
I've been to China a fair bit, so my standards are pretty high.

The people that run it seem super nice and the fried tofu was okay but our food was not very good. The sweet and sour chicken didn’t look like chicken or have any flavor to speak of. The presentation was also pretty bad.

Again, they seemed super nice and maybe our experience was an isolated experience.

WARNING - WORST CHINESE

If you are after a dish full of disappointment go to Tsang’s

We are local to Bangalow and decided to try out Tsang’s for the first time. It will also be the last time.

For entree:
Spring rolls - from coles $2 for 16 or go to T’sangs $5 for 4. Also burnt to a crisp.

Mains:
Sweet and sour tofu - the tofu was soggy, as if it had been soaking in water, the vegetables, which made up 99% of the dish, were uncooked. As you can imagine the sauce was completely tasteless.

Vegetable Chow Mein - this was the worst dish I have ever had in my life. Uncooked carrot, onion and zucchini with dried crunchy chips?! smothered on top of them.

Local to Bangalow and have never tried the Chinese, thought we would try it.
Owners were lovely, suggested we should get the “special” fried rice which includes bbq pork, literally ONE piece of bbq pork in it, rice was under cooked..we ordered honey chicken, barely any chicken, or honey sauce just batter and sesame seeds. Chicken wings were very dry and had no flavour, We really hate wasting food but unfortunately it was in edible.

I've never left a bad review in my life before but this is worth reporting. This is the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life. The sesame prawn was disgusting and the Singapore noodles were greasy and inedible

Extremely disappointed. The lemon chicken was inedible. Every meal was disgusting. Felt sick after eating.
Avoid this restaurant.
