Excellent spot for a late breakie or lunch... Coffee and food are always tip top - especially their Mushroom n' Fetta Pie and the Smoked Salmon on Turkish. Great team at Castle Cove.

Nestled in a strip of local shops, I recently discovered the Castle Cove branch of this little chain of bakeries. Whether eating in, or taking out a treat - the quality and price remains great. And if dining in, the service was excellent as well. Would recommend to just about anyone.

The mini pains au chocolat are the perfect compliment to your drink of choice!

The Grumpy Baker has ample seating despite its relatively small size, and though the south facing aspect can leave the outside area somewhat chillier on winter mornings, the quality of there food and service will bring you back again and again.

As a regular customer, I have found a genuine little sense of community with the staff here—always a pleasure through trying times.

This café is not at a busy road but in a quiet neighborhood which gives it a lovely calm atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The coffee is great but the secret lies in their muffins. Personally I find the blueberry muffin to die for.

A really nice quirky cafe which was a pleasant surprise. Hidden away in a local suburban area. Definitely worth a visit if you feel like getting caffeinated before heading off to the near by reserve for a bit of a Bush walk! The coffee was like most australian coffee... amazing!

Seriously great coffee; superb bread and caring staff, make this a place you will want to visit often and tarry for a while over breakfast or lunch.

The Grumpy Baker will always be one of my favourites. Honestly I've never enjoyed a loaf of bread like the fig and walnut sourdough before, it's something else. Quality bread for quality prices.

Recently moved to the area and was awesome to discover this as my local cafe. Great coffee, freshly baked sourdoughs, breads and pastries, good menu and fantastic team!

Grumpy Baker Castle Cove and Maroubra have both been a long time favourite of mine and also share the lovely experience with my family. Really good coffee and awesome sweet and savoury pastries. Only catch is its really busy which results in a big way time, well was when I went.

Fantastic cafe. I come here once a week with kids and they're very family friendly. They have great food that is cooked on site and have toys and colouring available for kids.
