Gavin was lovely and was able to provide us with information about the oysters and fish.
The fish and oysters were as fresh as they come.

We ordered the chowder, and fish and chips. Initially thought the fish and chips were a little expensive, $25 for a serve, but it was more than enough for 2 people and probably could’ve fed 3! So definitely worked out fantastic value, plus it was super tasty. Chowder was tasty but didn’t have any chunks of seafood which I think would’ve really elevated it. Definitely recommend and I’m so glad we stopped by on our drive through.

Hands down, the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Fresh, tasty fish in crisp batter and chips cooked perfectly.
Arrived close to closing but they were still happy to serve and get the kitchen going again. Greatly appreciated!

The Fish Box offers excellent customer service. The owner is very friendly, and he was very helpful when we were choosing our fresh seafood options. We also had fish and chips for lunch. It was cooked to perfection. It is a must visit if you would like to buy fresh seafood or eat fish and chips. It was amazing the outdoor setting.

10/10 for whiting and chips. Everything was so crispy and fresh. There’s a small decking area you can sit out the back. Wish this was my local! The place is nothing to look at but it kind of adds to the charm. Owner was very nice.

Got the yellow fin whiting. Beautiful and fresh. Lovely cook. Sat outside on the deck overlooking the mangroves. Peaceful stop.

Lovely old school no-frills fish and chip place on the foreshore. Has seating down the back with great views across the mangroves. Friendly service. Does a very nice chowder, and serves generous plates of excellent fish and chips.

The best fish and chips I've ever had! All the chips were crispy and the whiting was delicious with a light crispy batter. A very fair price for an excellent quality product. We loved sitting on the deck outside overlooking the mangrove and boat ramp. The owner was really friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back next time we pass through Cowell.
