The River Mouth Cafe

The burger with the lot was incredibly tasty. I don't know what cheese it was but boy it was good. Chips were great. A little too salty but crisp on the outside and soft inside. The view is amazing. So much so that instead of passing through I decided I would stay a night and explore this little gem some more. Despite that they were closing soon, staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating.
I did find the parking a little confusing out front. On leaving town ducked in and got a Pavlova Cronut. It was delicious. I look forward to coming again.

We stayed at a local farm nearby in Scamander and the owners recommended this place for breakfast. If you're a tourist in Tassie you can't have a brekky with a better view. If the weather supports, outside umbrellas are open and the food itself has a home made and healthy flavor to it. Loved it.

Best Burger with the lot I've had in ages! Also, if you have a partner that needs a delicious gluten and dairy free burger, no problems there either. If you're in Scamander, River Mouth Cafe is a must.

Since last time I was here, the Cafe has been renovated and I must say they've done an outstanding job. From the friendly smile we received on entering, to the great service and tasty food, it is now a location I would happily eat at often if I could. As well, who wouldn't love the view over the beach. There is dining options both outside on the deck or inside with large windows to enjoy the view.

Had the raspberry gelato and blood orange. The young fella was very helpful and had great people skills. Great prices also

Food was good for take out and the price! Had the flake and chips + calamari. Staff was friendly, and the view around here is amazing. Just watch out for the seagulls. =P

There's also a park and community bathroom right next to it.

This is my favourite beachside cafe in Tasmania I’d go even Australia! Right on the beach watching seagulls and waves. Can’t get better than that!

Bought two chicken burgers with the lot + chips off the takeaway menu, could not ask for better as far as takeaway goes. Everything was so fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Can see that there is real care going into the food and service, highly recommend!

Had two big breakfasts this morning....only one word to say...Perfection..
everything was cooked to perfection. When it came out I was " Wow, I will never be able to eat all of that" but I did, because it was too good to leave!

Had breakfast here this morning was absolutely great friendly staff and clean and the food was great well done to all we will be back

Really nice setting looking out to the river and sea. Good coffee and even better service. Highly recommended

You can't judge a book by its cover. This little take away has amazing fish and chips. I traveled to Scamander specifically to try the fish and chips that friends told me were the best on the coast - I was not disappointed. This is one of the best calamari I've tasted. But be warned every meal is cooked to order and we were informed we would have to wait nearly an hour (it was a public holidays and it was obvious the secret about this place was out). But the wait was worth it. I've taken the bait, been hooked, and will be back again. If you're in the area don't pass up they opportunity to have some of the best fish and chips you'll have in Tassie.

Had the best burger of my life here (and I've had a few). Was very generously filled out, great price, great location. Tiny bit of a wait, but that was totally understandable and to be expected. You can wait outside on the deck and watch the views. People serving were very friendly, lady in the supermarket part was exceptional. Will definitely be coming back when we visit again. The fish and chips were also five star.
