The Lydoun Motel

A lovely surprise, spacious, modern, and quiet. Just 2 mins off the Hume Highway with awesome meal at the local tavern/bistro.

Stayed 2 nights in this motel and absolutely loved it. Very spacious and comfortable rooms and staff are friendly and attentive- all for a very reasonable price. Will stay here again if I'm in the area

The hotel is very well presented with very reasonable rates, which may be because of its close proximity to the rail line between Melbourne and Wodonga which runs through the night as well as the day.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. The rooms are well appointed and presented and very clean.

The rooms have tea & coffee making supplies & kettle. Fridge. Microwave. Hairdryer (I didn't use it but there was one in the bathroom), iron & ironing board, very well maintained and well fenced outdoor pool. An undercover BBQ and outdoor area to eat is also included.

I may be wrong but if you want internet and / or internet tv I suggest you enquire before booking. did miss Netflix, etc. I could only find free to air tv channels, unfortunately. I was very surprised & would have paid another $10 per night to have this to watch at night. Chiltern is a very small, quiet little town, so I think guests would probably appreciate internet access.

Stayed only one night. Clean and cosy room, with everything that you need. Very nice service. I can highly recommend it.

Rooms great. Walking distance to town center, lake,train station. Amenities good. I stayed 3 nights it was convertible and relaxing. I would stay stay there again.

We enjoyed the welcoming friendly helpful staff. While Chiltern does not offer much in the way of eating facilities the receptionist advised us on how & what Barnawatha might offer. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable, price was affordable.

I continue to enjoy staying at the Lydoun. During my last visit my wife and I, together with our families, stayed at the Lydoun for several nights as part of a group booking for our wedding, which was held at Chiltern. It was a most enjoyable stay. The rooms were, as always, neat, clean, and comfortable. The managers also gave us a discount as part of the group booking. On top of this, they catered for our wedding afternoon tea. The food was good and reasonably priced. It all made for a most enjoyable and happy weekend.

As I've said in previous reviews, the Lydoun is not luxurious, but it's still a great place to stay. It is close to a busy railway line, with trains passing through at night, but I actually enjoy that.

very comfortable sleep on lovely crisp linen the queen room was decorated beautifully, and we appreciated the microwave and fridge small table and chairs and comfortable couch. the updated bathroom even had a hair dryer and the towels looked new. for summer there is an airconditioner and swimming pool. the amore coffee satchels were delicious and the biscuits were appreciated. thank you very much. the hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

Hosts are friendly and very accomodating. The rooms are very clean with all the modern conveniences you would expect for a motel room. Bed was awesome, nice and firm. Lovely grounds area with partly undercover salt water pool area. Probably the best part is the excellent, spacious Cafe.
Breakfast was great, good value and good service. Very reasonable tariff for one night's accommodation in the middle of Easter. Great base for exploring around the Murray, Chiltern and the nearby Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park, Beechworth, Rutherglen etc.
Definitely recommend and will come back.

I arrived and was greeted immediately by the manager who offered to take my breakfast order. An early start ment I wasn't able to take advantage of the hot breakfast but they brought a continental breakfast for me to prepare myself in the morning.
The room was clean, comfortable and the facilities were good.

This is excellent accomodation ! I book here regularly on route to Melbourne and the property and rooms are always impeccable. Beautifully cooked country breakfast is available delivered to your room. Chiltern is a lovely historic town that I always look forward to visiting - Highly Recommend staying here !!

Room Spotless, comfy bed, quiet, very well priced, owners lovely, quick and easy access from the hume, bonus points as i could fit my truck directly out the front of the motel.
