Papa Bear

If I could give this wonderful cafe six stars I would. What an amazing experience to enjoy breakfast, coffee or lunch. It falls under that category of "Don't judge a book by the cover." On first sight, Papa Bear looks small but very inviting. The food is always 100% fresh everyday. The owner bakes all the muffins fresh by himself everyday and discards the unsold ones at the end of the day. You simply must try Papa Bear at least once. You will be back.

Visited this place for coffee and food during the week. Place is not very busy and staff are accommodating. Tried their beef burrito and was nice and filling.

I had the Chilli Scramble breakfast. Beautifully plated, fresh ingredients and well constructed on top of the sourdough bread. A really nice mix of flavours which I throughly enjoyed.

Latte was a good temperature, didn't burn my hands holding the glass and a good coffee mix, not bitter more sour.

People working there are very friendly and service + meals were delivered efficiently with little wait.

Credit card accepted without surcharge.

I love sticky Chai Latte. I tried Sticky Chai Latte many places. Papa Bear is one of the pro cafe made the best Sticky Chai Latte. The owner offer full Chai flavour, creamy foam and perfect temperature. The service is friendly from both the barista and his wife. The atmosphere is lovely and I feel like I'm at small lane way cafe in one of Japan area.
The muffin is fresh (made daily), fluffy and have the right amount of fruits/chocolate.
Highly recommend this cafe for couple and family.

Only sat down for food here for the first time the other day after going past for a coffee a lot of times over the years which have always been nice with a full flavour.

But I gotta say.. The best Banh Mi in the whole area! I use to have to go to Greensborough or Warrandyte but now I'll always come here for my fix. 👍

Best Eltham morning cafe. Always have gluten free options. Excellent coffee and friendly service. Lots of regular customers.

Google “best coffee in Eltham” and you find Papa Bear. I concur. This hidden gem delivered on its reviews. 5star coffee (and I’m a Heidelberg coffee snob I might add),with some decent brunch options, and a warming atmosphere.

The coffee and cake here is always good. Nice range to choose from and some gluten free options.

Quaint little hidden away place with a friendly home style feel. Relaxed food and atmosphere yet still tastey and welcoming. It is inside a walkthrough strip and seating is limited so great for couples but not groups

Easily the most friendly and welcoming cafe I've visited, lovely staff, a cozy environment with great aesthetic, beautiful coffee and a breakfast tart that is to die for. I'm impressed with the service and quality here at Papa Bear and will definitely be coming back, 5 stars

Awesome little hole in the wall, great coffee and service!

It is a little place with nice coffee and friendly people. Food is mainly handheld stuff but homemade and very nice.

Papa Bear had the best coffee in Eltham in my taste buds opinion. Also has the best (sub) sandwich that I've had in years - the Vietnamese style baguette with pork & special coleslaw. I have no idea what it is named on the menu but it's in the display inside the store. If it's not just ask for it. They'll know what you mean.

It's also got some excellent gluten free options too.

The vegan savory muffin is delicious and definitely our favorite coffee in Eltham 😍

There's no doubt that the Papa Bear experience is unique. The food, service and drinks are all worthy of a 5 star rating considering the size of the venue. But the atmosphere what makes this place tremendous. The owner and his kids are almost always there and ready to chat or play. It's a great little cafe with lots of heart.

Had a yummy Cajun Chicken roll, came very quick.

Eltham's hidden secret! A quaint little hideaway situated in a little alley. The super friendly barista was extremely polite even when I had a silly moment and asked, "Do you serve coffee here?" 🤦🏻‍♀ Delicious coffee, great price! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Bike Friendly and ready with the coffees of Melbourne - including the Magic coffee - with breakfast and lunch options.
We had a breakfast option that didnt exist, and they were more than happy to make the food for us. This is a great spot for food - and did I say it is cycling friendly.
