Lachlan Hotel

Stopped here for lunch on the way from Hobart to Strahan. Wasn’t expecting much, but wow what a pleasant surprise. We had the beef schnitzel and chicken schnitzel and they were top notch. Not much at all on the menu for vegetarians (“we live in the country, we have cows and sheep and that’s what we do around here”) but they kindly whipped out some vegetarian spring rolls which were excellent! Definitely recommend as a great lunch stop over

Got the Cottage Pie, fantastic.
Bloke running bar and taking orders did a bang up job.
Classic pub feel, no fus, all quality.

Went for dinner with family and was expecting a mediocre pub meal, but what we got was a fantastic dining experience. Started with salt & pepper squid which we shared, have to say best salt & pepper squid I’ve ever had, to follow steak with mushroom sauce, tender juicy and cooked to perfection— absolutely a sneaky find, highly recommend.

Went for a cheeky lunch this afternoon with a friend…what an incredible hidden gem this place is. Wine list filled with local Tassie wines at prices you don’t see in town. We had pizza and a burger - meals were outstanding and incredibly generous for the price. Varied menu and will absolutely be back to sample further. Tracey was an outstanding hostess, friendly and attentive. Couldn’t recommend this place higher!

Cheap rooms, $4 Great Northern scooners. Great service by the bar chick. Stop in your won't regreat it.

Absolutely beautiful meal. I had a chicken Parma the size of it was huge definitely value for money.

Lachlan hotel is a fantastic pub, restaurant and stopover when riding/touring Tassie's west coast. Very friendly staff and great food.
The parmi I had last night was the freshest, tastiest and most succulent I had in years! Rooms are clean, bed was comfy - what more could be asked for?

Last minute decision to stay the night and eat here. We both ordered lamb cutlets and absolutely enjoyed then. Very tasty and juicy cutlets and the mint gravy was amazing. Very pleased we stopped by.

Called into the Bistro/ Cafe only place we could find that was open to serve coffee and lunch between Hobart and Derwent Bridge / The Wall so we were very greatful and very happy with the quality of the coffee and the food. Would recommend this place even though they were so busy it was worth the small amount of waiting time as we are on holidays and in reality it didn't matter.

If you're headed between Hobart and the West, or just in the area, it is well worth the stop.

If you need a bed- stay here! Cosy room, comfortable bed with electric blanket. Tea/coffee/fridge & breakfast goods available outside of the room. Large share bathroom, seperate shower/toilet etc. Thank you Tracy for your warm hospitality.
Only a short drive to Mount Field National Park and your $ support small towns - a win for all.

Stayed on a rainy night while on a tour of Tassie staying mainly in a tent. Sarah was a wonderful host - arranged a wonderful evening meal, made sure we were comfortable, and showed us all we needed for a self-service breakfast. Country pubs don't get better than this!

Fantastic little spot to stop into for a bite to eat! Got the Parma with Chips, very delicious and the wait time was only about 15 or so minutes. Would recommend to anyone driving through!

We arrived by coincidence because the hotel is not listed in Booking.com or any website and guys, this place is GOLD!. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food was more that delicious and it has a nice pub to have some drinks. The bedroom super clean, confortable and big beds. The bathroom has bathtub, heater. This place keep us warm, completely ready for winter. If you are doing a road trip and are thinking about stopping somewhere, you must stay here :)

My girlfriends and I had a meal there and it was magnificent!!! I have not had such a beautiful meal in at least 20 years .The service was fantastic!! Can’t wait to go there again and definitely recommend, just amazing well done !!!!

Great coffee, pies and cakes, an unexpected treat for tourists passing through. Serve lunch as well. Friendly service too.

AMAZING food and service.
We were staying in Hamilton but nothing was open so we ducked down to the lachlan for dinner and the lovely lady who served us was the only one working and yet she got the food out so quickly and the food was absolutely gorgeous, perfectly cooked and delicious (the creamy garlic sauce is perfection)
