Lawrenny Estate Distilling - Tasmanian Distillery

What a view from inside of the distillery! Wow! We had a tasting it was $10 but that came off when we made a purchase- which we did. They have fantastic gin and whiskey. It’s a no fuss distillery and cellar door worth a visit. We had a great chat with the man who came down and greeted us. I’d highly recommend adding this to your list of places to drop into if you haven’t already.

The owner is a nice gentleman. The environment was so nice. It’s a new distillery which only started in 2017?
We had the whiskey tasting which is AUD40 for 3 types of whiskey, but he let us try all 5 kinds (with smaller portion) which was great. The whiskey per bottle is around AUD139-199, not cheap but quite a special experience, we bought one anyways.

With a stunning location on the rivers edge, a host of heritage buildings and peaceful tree lined avenues, Lawrenny Distillery is a destination in its self.
Add to this friendly and knowledgeable staff, fantastic gins and a clever tasting regime, and you have a must do stop on the road west from Hobart.
The Lawrenny gins are first class and offer a wide range of botanicals. They are a mellow range and some of Tasmania’s finest.
They also have a great range of whiskey and you must try the coffee gin liqueur.

Definitely worth the stop.
Beautiful location and even better Gin and Whiskeys.
Recommend the Salamanca for a very mellow whiskey and the Tarkine if you like a more complex drop.
Staff are also very lovely.

I absolutely loved this distillery. The place is set in a beautiful part of Tasmania, with lush green hills and river right behind the tasting room. The estate also has an interesting history. Ended up buying more than I'd planned and now I'm on their mailing list waiting for more of their new stuff. You'll find a few interesting varieties of gin, but I picked up their vodka, coffee liqueur and their limited release whisky. The young lady was very knowledgeable, patient and courteous. A great experience overall. Highly recommended, if you like your spirits.

I was heading out that way for another purpose and spotted this place on the map, never heard of it before, looked at their website, gathered the boys, and went for a little road trip.
What a wonderful estate, simply beautiful. The owner provided us with a tasting, and wonderful knowledge of the products and history of the estate.
I am not a whiskey drinker, but really enjoyed theirs.
The gins and vodka are also wonderful, not to mention the cold brew coffee liqueur. If I could have I would have bought all of them.

We had a really nice break there on the way to West Coast.
It is utterly beautiful. Upon reflection, it is the prettiest one we've been to. The whiskey is not bad either, and the setting really allows you to enjoy it. Highly recommend a stop there!!

Brilliant tasting venue with some amazing Tasmanian Gin, whiskey and other spirits, next door to an amazing old country manor (no doubt built with convict slave labour unfortunately). You have to try it!

Lovely service by the owner. Brought two bottles of Gins and a bottle of Vodka to add to our collection.

Lovely drive into the property, with beautiful backdrop of a running river behind the distillery. Options of gin, vodka, whisky and coffee liquer. Tastings available with lovely staff only to happy to assist you. Interesting to hear about the recent awards they have won for their products.

Haven't been to the distillery but purchased the Lawrenny Heritage Single Malt and oh my goodness, smoothest, sweetest, well rounded whisky i have ever had! Love it!

Ross was very hospitable and provided information related to the history of Lawrenny in an engaging manner. Tasting the wares of the distillery and having our favourites delivered to our home ensured a memorable visit. I also gained a new nickname - 'squoffer',

Great product range, smooth and flavoursome whiskey, good knowledge and very welcoming. A gem on the road towards the west coast from Hobart (or the other way). Worth calling in. Great to see a local provider producing such a good quality drinks.

Now at the Cellar Door after a long wait, coved restrictions and tasting resulted in very welcome purchases. gin vodka and whiskey - subtle, flavoursome, unique: planned another distillery on way back to The Hob, didn't worry. Really impressed with the setup here. They've the best vodka I've tasted in Tas and the gins have won awards too. Have to come back in a few years when their whiskey has aged and is ready. Worth the time to drop in, you won't be disappointed :)

This place is just wonderful! Their gins, vodka and liquors are well balanced, smooth and delicious. Not suprise they won couple medals with their spirits. Definitely will come back once their whisky will be ready after ageing because it will be surely amazing! Using their own barley which they are growing on their beautiful farm. Family owned, such a friendly guys! We spent about hour with tasting and distillery tour and after we bought couple bottles we spent another hour just walking in their beautiful garden which is just like from fairytale! Well recomneded!! Thank you guys, we ll be back 😉
