The Madsen Boutique Hotel

We were late to check in, but that wasn’t an issue because we received a “welcome “ text message with instructions on how to collect our room key from reception.
Our room was spacious, clean the bed was comfortable and the spa was the icing on the cake. Complimentary Port or Sherry in the lounge foyer was a lovely touch.
We were in the heart of the Main Street, so the beach and all amenities were close. Had a great feed at the local pub (The Neptune Grand Hotel) which was a casual 1 minute walk away.
We were able to park our car directly opposite our accommodation without any issues.
I have absolutely nothing negative to report about our stay here!

The room and adjoining bathroom were perfect. After a long day of travelling, arriving late at night, ease of access was super easy. And what a lovely room after a long day. Access codes, instructions and wifi were clearly given. I could not have been more delighted with the amenities in the room and the lovely warm and welcoming feel to the place. Will definitely visit again!

This hotel was amazing!!! We stayed in the penthouse suit (room 6) for our honeymoon. Not only was this the best room we have ever stayed in, but the view was absolutely next level. Everyone was so lovely and they even gave us a complimentary bottle of bubbly to celebrate. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in penguin.

Fantastic clean room, excellent service, superb location. The bed was very comfortable - great mattress! And the shower was great. There were some lovely thoughtful touches such as putting the heater on in our room so it was nice and warm when we arrived.
The building is respectfully maintained in its original style with some tasteful modern alterations.

It was the best accomodation with a welcoming host. He went out off his way to help us out with our car issue, thank you Phillip. We stayed at the Penthouse, it was very clean with all the required amenities.

We loved our room with sea views. We opened our window to hear the rain and the waves gently crashing on the beach. It is always immaculate, clean and Phil is a covid safe host. His welcome was professional and excellent in this covid world we live in.

Comfortable king bed. Ocean view and sound! My partner and I enjoyed the spa immensely, along with lots of space, old style decor, cleanliness and excellent service. Would stay again without hesitation! A very lovely experience for us. Thanks Phil

A wonderfully old-school building and very comfortable accommodation. Room service food was delightful, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Beautiful views across Bass Strait and the sound of the wind in the eaves is really soothing allowing you to drift off to sleep after a long day.

Our host Jim was attentive, the cooked breakfast was top notch standard. The position of the hotel looking out on to Bass Strait and in the centre of Penguin made the overnight stop enjoyable. The room was clean and well set up.

Very comfortable accommodation, bed and amenities. Close to both Burnie and Devonport in a quiet little beachside town. Reception seems to close quite early on midweek days but self check in easy enough. There was a breakfast order form but I didn't take much notice of it. The only issue I had with my stay was hearing the guy downstairs snoring, so maybe sound proofing could be improved but it wasn't so loud as to keep me awake.

Brilliant stay in this boutique hotel. Excellent rooms, well appointed and not lacking in anything needed. The owner was extremely helpful with ideas on places to visit and eating establishments which were all excellent. Breakfasts were well prepared and presented. Highly recommend staying here.

The room in this amazing hotel was good! The soothing sounds of the ocean put me right to sleep! As well as the complementary nightcap of port. The breakfast was served promptly at the designated time and when we left we we're all smiles.

I booked my room at late notice and got a great price. Then i was spoilt rotten by the owner. I got a guided tour of the hotel, delicious breakfasts, peace and quiet and complimentary drinks. If you are ever in Penguin book at The Madsen!

Really lovely accomodation - well appointed and great location. Comfortable bed, great room. Check in/out instructions excellent and easy to understand. Great stay.

It's just beautiful, well equipped, and perfect for a romantic getaway, we just loved it

I had the best time loved it me an gypsy. So I booked the penthouse for my best friends birthday for her an her hubby.
They well love it like I did.

Honestly I can't fault it. The location was perfect, the room was modern, clean, comfortable. Check in and check out couldn't be easier.
They have thought of everything.

Stayed Here with 2 mates room was set up with 2 singles and a king. Plenty of room, towels, and a cheeky night cap 🍷. Feels more like a warm BnB.
Worth the stay.
