Douglas Mountain Bike Park

MTB single track mecca, good trails clearly marked. Couple of access points also. Few walkers on trails near Uni after work during week, so just be aware as a few had earphones on.....

What a great locally run trail network, I am on holidays in TSV from Melbourne and us Southerners are green with envy at the trails on your doorstep. Great work Rockyriders !

Awesome trail system, very well maintained although not a big deal but the map could be updated to include Gravity and other new Trails built recently. Big thanks to Rockwheelers MTB club.

Another great club run MTB Park.
Townsville is rocky so learn to love rocks. Well sign postedand well graded. ie blues where novice trails with challenges. Green steped it up and i didnt atempt any blacks.

We need google to update the trails I’m new to Townsville and it took me a fair while to be able to find this track in the scorching sun, but a beautiful nine the less

As a beginner MTB’er i find that the green runs are very suitable and the blue runs are not that bad for a beginner. There are signs at every junction to let you know which run to go on, which i find very helpful. It is more technical than Forest and Anglesea in Victoria and on par with Bright in Victoria for technicality. There could be more loop information, as there is only only loop that is green. All in all, a great park that i love.

Great MTB trails

A brilliant trail network for beginners right through to advanced riders! Whether you are looking to get into mountain biking or stopping on your way through townsville, Douglas Mountain Bike Reserve is a must! I've ridden in a number of locations around Australia and Townsville is definitely one of my favourite!

Awesome park with trails for all levels

As your plane comes in to land at Townsville it glides ride past Mt Stuart and a whole bunch of singletrack that forms the Douglas MTB Reserve. The trails are a mix of handcut and machine built, all with massive views out over the city and Pacific Ocean. The Rock'n'Roll descending trail was a highlight when I visited though more trails have been built since then.

Townsville is so lucky to have the Rockwheelers MTB Club who maintain the fantastic resource! It caters for almost every type of MTB riding. Great tracks!

Great trails to explore. Bring your hard tail, short travel dually or long travel for the burly stuff. Lots of new trails getting added or modified all the time.
