Mud Crab Motel

Lovely place, great accommodation, excellent staff. Once you are inside there are nice little gardens and verandahs, small donger style rooms but super comfy, clean, airconditioned with everything we needed, staff are very friendly and responsive, close to town, quiet and safe. Definitely recommend the Mud Crab if you are visiting Derby.

Brook went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and welcoming, offered delicious home cooked meals with access to breezy verandah for down time.

I had Covid19 and was locked down in the Mud Crab Motel in Derby for 7 days.
The room and bathroom were clean and had everything needed.
But the most important thing, I was sick and Brook looked well after me. He cooked some most beautiful meals for me. Thank you Brook.

We came here in October 2021 and felt safe and had a great stay. Friendly customer service, owner went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. We had no idea what to eat for dinner as lack of options in the town. They made us a yummy curry that we ate in their little seating area. Lovely experience. Thank you.

Fantastic overnight stop in Derby staff extemely humorous,helpful and the kindness to accomodate all our needs. Nothing was too much trouble and even allowed us to use their kitchen to freeze down our stuff. Sat talking with the owner in the evening and swapping recipes. Rooms very spacious very clean and comfortable, reasonably priced and rooms have everything you need. 😀

We stayed here before heading off to do the gibb river road. Queen sized room was very nice, its plain, simple, clean and bed was super comfy. Owner/manger is great guy and offered to let us use is crab pots!

Basic, clean and comfortable accomodation. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. Also have a clean bbq to cook on in a nice outdoor area if you want to go to woolworths to do your own.

If we are ever back in town will stay again.

Lovely little place to stay in Derby for an overnighter on the way into Broome. Very close to the wharf for the most beautiful sunset. Comfortable bed, good shower and surprisingly more space in the room than I thought to store luggage. The personable host is the highlight. Thank you Brook for your welcoming nature and we loved the interesting conversations. P.S. Also enjoyed the handy onsite pork dinner and homemade icecream available on our arrival after the sunset.

Lovely motel they've got there. And yes the staff and owner are such amazing people. I would say it's the cleanest place to stay compared to the other motels there. Even the food there was great when I was there. Hope to see you guys again there and continue those games nights we had. Was so much fun 😊. Thanks for all your help whilst there as well.

I could not be more grateful that I booked in to stay here!! I’m renovating my van on the road and quite a few things went wrong, broke or were missing and Brook helped me first with just spare tools but then actually got on the roof to help out with installing the fan!! Would have been pooped without his kindness! Will be telling anyone I can to pop in for a stay! Thank you for all your help and the lovely yarns brook!!

It is a simple place but clean and quiet. Brook the manager, made our stay a really plaisant moment. Great welcoming indeed.

A great little motel that's very affordable. Nicely equipped room and bathroom. Clean and recently refurbished. Helpful owner. Breezy under-cover area with tables to catch up on work / travel planning.

We broke down with our car after 5 pm. The owner and Mark were very accomodation and flexible. Such lovely people. Highly recommend staying here.

For the last two weeks I have enjoyed my stay at mud crab motel could call it home the host Brooke and staff are fantastic to get along with and will go out of their way to help you in anyway they can...Rooms & facilities are clean and comfortable have booked again in advance for February stay 😃

A great surprise as we found this hidden gem above all our expectations - spotless clean and had the warmest ever most helpful friendliest welcome and perfect take-away menu - all at such reasonable prices- a wonderful break from caravan parks
