Beautiful place. 🌲
The areas of pine tree plantation feels like you are in the mountains. Lots of animals to been seen, if you stick to walking. Dogs absolutely love it too.

Every year around Easter holidays , I come to Belanglo State Forest for a mushroom hunt I love this place. I know the terrifying backpackers killer story,so I will never go there alone .

Great place to go running. Well defined and challenging tracks. Little eerie considering the history but has a well preserved memorial to pay respects.

A very quiet, tranquil forest. Great for mushroom picking. Saffron Milk Caps growing abundantly.

Awesome spot for the dogs to run and to pick up some mushies!

The saffron milk cups can be found in wet areas - close to creeks and on the slopes down to the creeks. You have to look carefully under the pine needles and try not to step on the mushrooms :)

This year there are not that many 2022, due to the floods and the are being severely over soaked though would highly recommend the outing with family and friends!

Great place to visit, have a picnic and test your offroad vehicle. I have a stock 4wd and managed to have some fun on the firetrials with other stock 4wd's and AWD's.

Difficult to access due to recent flooding in the area. Most of the roads were closed.

The only reason to come to this forest is for the mushrooms!

Amazing place. Strange and mixed feelings driving through there (considering violent and ugly history). Ideally best suited to all wheel drive cars etc due to pot holes. Can get by with a sedan if need be. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic spot for camping, 4WD and taking your dog for a good walk. Don't let the history of the place put you off, there is a camping clearing which feels very safe at all times and it populated by families & other groups. The fire trails are perfect for 4WD and the forest has so many different areas to explore; whether you're planning a daytrip or an overnight stay, you will love this location.

The place looks spooky and lived up to my expectations. Started to rain and became very dark as I entered the depths of the forest. Was driving a 2wd so didn't make it all the way through. Great experience

Love coming here its a nice scenic drive with lots of places to walk around! There is walking tracks around the place and around the grave sites. Not scary at all. Theres lots of bushland to adventure in and some hairy roads if you have a 4x4 would make it even better! Ill be coming back soon. It is definatly a place worth visiting

Good place to stop off for some cones on a drive from Sydney to Canberra or Melbourne. It's so isolated and out of the way considering Australia's busiest Highway runs right past the main entry/exit road. Nothing bad would ever happen in a place like this.

It is nice to walk in the Pine forest. So different than ussual Oz nature. We been here for Mushroom picking. Found lot of Slipery Jacks. The was also lot of wombats holes. Some of the forest is grassy and wet and some dry like James Bonds Martini with vodka and we enjoyed the stay there in same way like Mr. Bond his drink.
