If you love nature hike or bird watching this is great place to visit. There are various route options to go for hike, depending on your capacity or time you want to spend. We finished approximately 7km hike in few hours and it was beautiful.
Plenty of parking space, public toilet, map/route information available at the entrance.

Watch out for beautiful gang gang cockatoos if you are bird lover. Highly recommended.

Brilliant reserve and picnic area. Lots of options for a bush walk..ranging from short 1.8KM return to Illawarra lookout to the entire Girakool loop of 8.km.
We did the stone bridge walk (4km return) and back with kids...very straightforward and easy for most of the walk...last 400 mts was.moderately steep downwards leading to the stone bridge. Enjoyed the wilderness and the bird sounds...one of the most peaceful walks. Beware the water near Stone Bridge is quiete stagnant and has moss on.many stones so prone to being very slippery...best avoided going in water. Has single drop toilet but was clean. Excellent picnic bench ..which were very clean. All in all a great spot for an active day out

Lovely place with lots of birds. There seem to be a resident flock of gang gang cockatoos. Pay close attention to the sound of things dropping from the trees as this is the only thing you will hear if they are eating. We were there about 2 hours before sunset and there was a lot of bird activity.

Great spot to start a bushwalk. Some fantastic tracks leading from here.. It certainly has that old national park feel to it.
